WORLD FENCE NEWS • DECEMBER 2011 • 85 September 11 Memorial fencing project inspires poignant reflection continued from page 66 Panic gates from Secure Gate Systems offer quick, efficient egress in emergencies JOLIET, Ill. — Secure Gate Sys- tems (SGS), the original manufacturer of installation-ready, heavy duty high security panic gates, is marketing its gates for use in gas, power and chem- ical plants, correctional institutions, schools and other sites where a secure fenceline is demanded but also quick and efficient egress in emergency situ- ations. The gates are made from 3" x 3" 11-gauge steel, and are built to with- stand years of industrial abuse in out- door or indoor environments. The company guarantees them to be "sag proof," and to meet UL 325 safety requirements. The SGS gates ensure that only se- lect personnel can gain entry through the perimeter, and they are tamper- proof (although not against torches, high powered rescue saws, or explo- sives). Secure Gate Systems, Inc. is a di- vision of a family-owned business in operation since 1930, and all products are made in the U.S. SGS notes that it guarantees that its gates will maintain constant align- ment and never shift or sag due to a 360 degree exterior jamb and stainless steel hinges. "Developed with the installer in mind, our gates allow fast, easy, and complete installation in half a day or less," said company owner Mike Mar- chio, adding that flush mounts are even quicker to install. All models come with all neces- sary brackets, shields, and covers, as well as two 18" sheets of expanded metal reflective stickers. Finishes include: • Standard – Galvanized with gal- vanized paint over all welds; • Galvanized dipped – Completely galvanized welds; • Powder coated – Completely powder coated in different colors; • Glow-in-the-dark – Completely powder coated (for indoor use only for emergency light failure); and • Stainless steel. The customer chooses a means of egress that suits their needs and SGS incorporates the necessary hardware. Options include: • SEG 100: Standard crash bar hardware (Detex) with keyed entry. • SEG 200: Electromagnetic Doortronics crash bar with keypad/card entry and door closer. • SEG 300: Heavy duty pushbut- ton mechanical code lock with keypad on one or both sides. • SEG 400: Special – SGS will in- corporate other means of entry/egress. Decorative gate models feature 1" pressed point pickets for a heavy duty, classic wrought iron style appeal. Available optional features include an auto closer and ball bearing hinges. Gates are 38" x 84" with standard size openings, and custom sizes are available. For more information, call 866- 725-6995 or visit the company's web site at www.securegatesystems.net.
