3 CS260 Series Contractor OTDRs The CS260 contractor series OTDRs are designed for optical network activa- tion and troubleshooting tasks on Live PON or Metro/Access networks. The integrated VFL injects visible red light which emanates from macrobends or fiber breaks. Extremely short dead zones allow for individual resolution and measure- ment of closely spaced events. Over 1000 test results may be saved and transferred to a PC via the USB port for viewing, analysis and reporting. Rugged units have a high contrast display that's easily viewed inside or outside. CS260-10 Live PON OTDR enables verification of downstream 1490 and 1550 nm power levels at an FTTx PON ONU or ONT, plus provides an out-of band 1625 nm Live PON OTDR. The CS260-20 Metro/Access OTDR troubleshoots point-to-point metro/access networks operating in the 1310 and 1550 nm single- mode wavelength regions. OFL280 Series FlexTesters The OFL280 FlexTester is a multifunction OTDR and loss test set. It offers an unmatched combination of fiber optic test functions, ease-of-use, portabil- ity, and value. All OFL280 FlexTester models include an integrated singlemode 1310/1550 nm OTDR with PON and standard test modes, optical power meter, 1310/1550 nm laser source and visual fault locator. The OFL280 FlexTester user interface provides operating modes suitable for a wide range of users and features a top-down menu structure that is both easy to learn and to use. OTDR test results may be saved as industry standard SOR files, which can be transferred to a PC for viewing, printing, and analysis using supplied Windows ® compatible software. Unit is available in three versions. The two-wavelength OFL280-100 tests at 1310 and 1550 nm, which is normally sufficient to certify point-to-point or FTTx PON fibers and allows the detection of macro bends. The three-wavelength OFL280-102 adds 1490 nm which is required by some network operators to certify FTTx PONs. The filtered, three-wavelength OFL280-103 certifies dark fibers at 1310/1550 nm, tests dark fibers at 1625 nm L band, fault-locates live FTTx fibers at 1625 nm, and measures FTTx downstream power levels at 1490 and 1550 nm, all from a single test port.
