July 2015 | Overdrive | 71 Brit takes original ChampTruck racer to victory at Pikes Peak T he Meritor ChampTruck World Series was expected to return to action early this month in Charlotte, N.C., for the fourth race of the big rig racing series' inaugural season. Competitors were set to square off July 2-4 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, with heat races through- out the day July 3, followed by more heats and the points-earning Podium Race July 4. TruckShopLocator.com Stuart Oliver drove Champ- Truck's company show racer, the No. 31 Freightliner, to victory in the points-earning Podium Race at the Pikes Peak raceway in May. Stuart Oliver was congratulated on his wins by ChampTruck founding partner Fabien Calvet, who also runs the European truck racing circuit on which ChampTruck is based. Professional truck racer Stuart Oliver of England picked up the points- earning race in the third Meritor ChampTruck World Series race of the series' inaugural season, held May 29-31 at the Pikes Peak raceway in Colorado. Oliver is a 10-time truck racing champion in the British truck rac- ing circuit, and he drove ChampTruck's company show racer, the No. 31 Freightliner, in the week- end's events.
