(FPM) is also a new addition and can be either a standard mechanical or impulse pump used to deliver fuel from the tank to the rest of the fuel system. The modules deliver 39 psi (2.7 bar) system pressure, and the fuel pumps are non-serviceable. Internal check valve holds system pressure after the key switch is turned "off." The modules are engine mounted and must be replaced if a problem is suspected. Note: Warranty will be denied if
tamper-proof mushroom is removed (see Figure 11).
A closed loop system is a little
more costly up front, but over the long haul, the cost savings in fuel, service intervals and less downtime outweigh the initial costs.
