NEW PRODUCTS Subaru introduces EX13 Greens Mower Engine Subaru's new EX13 Greens Mower Engine is a specially designed version of the overhead cam (OHC) EX13 engine, intended exclusively for use on greens mowers. Featuring the power, easy starting and low-noise hallmarks of Subaru's EX engine line, the 4.3-hp. EX13 Greens Mower Engine also incorporates a unique design to suit the needs of golf course superintendents. Initially custom designed for the Toro Greensmaster Flex mower line, the EX13 Greens Mower Engine features a specially designed longneck fuel tank, offering ease during refueling, while also preventing costly, potentially damaging fuel spills. Toro also requested eliminating the reduction on the engine to change the rotation direction of the crankshaft. This alteration is crucial for the application, as it allows a slower operation speed for greater precision on delicate, expensive greens. Featuring OHC technology synonymous with the EX engine line, the EX13 Greens Mower Engine is designed for optimum engine performance. The intake and exhaust valves are ideally positioned to offer lower resistance for the air/fuel mixture flow. Combined with a highly efficient pent-roof-type combustion chamber, the engine utilizes a high compression ratio, producing higher power and torque while limiting exhaust emissions and fuel consumption. Other features of the EX13 Greens Mower Engine include fast and easy starting even in cold- weather operation (temperatures as low as 15 degrees F); an automatic decompression system that reduces the required recoil pulling force by 30-40 percent versus overhead valve (OHV) engines; fewer moving parts and an optimized capacity rigid muffler that produce a full 2 dBA (decibel level) quieter and softer in exhaust tone than other same-class engines; Subaru's patent- pending cooling technology that provides outstanding cooling performance; and a patent-pending oil delivery system that enhances durability. The EX13 Greens Mower Engine meets EPA and CARB emissions regulations and are backed by Subaru's 5-year warranty. Subaru Industrial Power Products TurfEx introduces 2 electric-powered push sprayers TurfEx recently rolled out 2 new electric-powered push sprayers for the turf industry. Capable of spraying all liquid solutions, the TL-80 and TL-80SS provide higher productivity than competitive ground-driven models. The TL-80 comes with a powder-coated frame, while the TL-80SS features a stainless-steel frame. Both sprayers include 12-gallon tanks, which are constructed of lightweight, corrosion-resistant polyethylene. A front-mounted, adjustable-height boomless nozzle is capable of spraying between 48 and 72 inches wide. Each unit is also equipped with a professional-duty, variable-tip spray wand on an 8-foot hose. A convenient switch toggles between nozzle and spray wand operation. All functions of the push sprayers are powered by an electric pump and 12-volt rechargeable battery. A unit can spray approximately 120 gallons per charge, and the battery charge time is 12 to 16 hours. Other standard features include inline filtration in the tank and large pneumatic tires for easy pushing over any terrain. The sprayers are covered by a 2-year limited warranty.
