NEW PRODUCTS Continued from page 33 Charter Software goes mobile with ASPEN business management system Users of ASPEN, Charter Software's business management system, can now provide faster customer service, enhance technician efficiency, and improve parts and inventory control with real-time, mobile access to their business information using ASPEN Interactive Mobility (A.I.M.). Smartphones, tablets, and handheld scanner/data collection devices are among the devices supported by this new technology which literally puts access to the equipment dealerships' business system information into the hands of the dealers and their employees. Using A.I.M, employees can assist customers by checking and updating parts availability at all dealership locations wherever they are, right from their handheld device rather than logging on to a computer. This is particularly helpful for assisting customers outside of business hours or for service trucks out on the road. Service technicians, whether in-house or in the field, can clock on/off work orders using a mobile device, eliminating the need for a computer. "A.I.M. is an affordable and highly effective way to give employees speedy access to the business systems' data," said Charter Software President Anne Salemo. "Because a single license can be shared by non-concurrent multiple users, this can save the dealership a great deal of money." Like ASPEN user licenses, an A.I.M. license has configurable permissions to limit user access to only the system data pertinent to them. "As we continue to build in additional functionality to A.I.M., we envision this aspect of our ASPEN system to be a critical component of the software for many of our dealers," said Salemo. New enhancements to A.I.M. will include more parts, service and inventory functions. A.I.M. will be demonstrated at the upcoming ASPEN User Conference to be held Aug. 5-8 in Winter Park, Colo. Conference attendees will also have the option of entering a drawing for a free A.I.M. license to be given away at the conference. Charter Software Inc. Under the multi-year agreement, ARI will provide Fidelitone with electronic parts catalog data for multiple outdoor power manufacturers, including Ariens, Briggs & Stratton Corporation, MTD and Toro. "We selected ARI and DataStream based on ARI's more than 30 years of experience and expertise in converting disparate manufacturer data into a normalized, easy-to-use format," said Josh Johnson, president of Fidelitone. "Working with ARI will allow us to quickly and cost-effectively deploy accurate parts catalogs into our customer's channel to help them support their service efforts." "We're excited about the opportunity to stream real-time, enhanced parts data to Fidelitone that will allow their business alliances to look up and order parts," said Roy W. Olivier, president and chief executive officer at ARI. "This relationship aligns perfectly with our core strategy of leveraging our comprehensive library of parts data from more than 125 of the leading manufacturers in the outdoor power, powersports and marine industries to help our customers sell more whole goods and PG&A."
