Zonar launches ZFuel analysis tool Z onar announced the general avail- ability of its Ground Traffic Control Performance pack- age, which includes a ZFuel application. GTC Performance is Zonar's cloud-based fleet management Web application, and ZFuel is a driver and truck analysis tool for uncovering areas to improve truck operation and fuel performance. Fleet managers can use ZFuel to identify nondiagnostic issues with trucks as well as areas to coach, motivate and incentivize best driving practices to achieve greater efficiencies with less fuel. ZFuel is designed to use telematics data collected by Zonar's V3 device connected directly to the engine control unit and analyze it for a variety of factors. The app ranks drivers according to their total fuel efficiency and lists the money they could save on fuel by changing their practices behind the wheel. Data captured by ZFuel includes cruise control use, engine idle time, gear selection and speed, providing fleet managers with an accurate measurement of fleet fuel ef- ficiency based on the circumstances in which each driver was operating. – Aaron Huff ZFuel is a driver and truck analysis tool for uncovering areas for improved truck operation and fuel performance.
