Traditional hydraulic log splitters can take 13 seconds or more to split the same log. "We designed this product with the professional in mind," said Josh Huffman, director of global product marketing for outdoor power equipment at Oregon. "The Kinetic log splitter provides 3 main advantages. First and most importantly, operators save time and effort. The speed and efficiency of the design are perfect for users who value time and reduced effort. Secondly, the system requires no hydraulic fluid, eliminating the need for hydraulic maintenance and the potential for leaks. Finally, the splitter simply helps operators work more efficiently by providing a quick, clean split while creating less wood-waste debris." The Kinetic log splitter also offers other benefits to the professional operator: ■ Versatility and portability: The splitter can be easily moved around the worksite with welded table-mounted handles. It can also be towed on the highway with its 2-inch ball coupler and safety chains, while the stow-away retractable tongue makes loading and unloading easy. ■ Heavy-duty work table: The work surface is smooth and aligned with the beam, which means fewer snags when bringing a log back for re-splitting. Operators can continue splitting longer due to the splitter's wide slots, which reduce buildup that can jam the push plate assembly in other splitters. The 32-inch-wide work table allows easy access to rounds and re-splits from either side. ■ Reduced fatigue: The patent-pending handle design on the Kinetic log splitter virtually eliminates kickback by using torsion springs that absorb energy when a stall occurs. Operator fatigue is reduced due to unnecessary motion, and operators can work from either side of the machine with convenient 2-handed operation. Powered by a Kohler SH265 engine, the splitter features a 6-inch wedge, and the entire machine sits on 4-inch by 8-inch road-towable tires rated at 45 mph. The Kinetic log splitter is available from authorized Oregon log splitter dealers. Ecolawn Applicator unveils new Walker Mower top dresser attachment Ecolawn Applicator recently introduced the Walker Mower top dresser attachment. This zero-turn Walker Mower attachment is a unique broadcast spreader. Its controls are integrated with the Walker Mower for comfort, control and accessibility. The newly designed, 11.5-cubic- foot, polythene hopper eliminates material bridging with smooth, steep sides, and its live conveyor system and agitator maintain steady material flow for consistent even spreading. Ecolawn's dual reverse spinner broadcast system is PTO driven, giving unlimited application thickness control over to the operator's ground speed. This feature is unique to this model. Spreading width is 4 to 14 feet, and application thickness ranges from 11.5 cubic feet of material in a single spot to a very thin layer. This attachment may be used for spreading a wide variety of products, including screened compost, pulverized soils, most pelletized products, calcite clay, crumb rubber, lime, all grades of sand, and unlimited blends of all the aforementioned products. Handy redesigns 2 lift tables Handy, Division of Janco Industries, Inc., has redesigned a pair of its lift tables in an effort to simplify. The redesigned lifts are the Standard 1200 Air Lift and the S.A.M. 1200 Air Lift. Both lifts have been revolutionized with a maintenance-free air bellows that replaces the air cylinder. In addition, the redesigned lifts also have improved safety features. The new lift design will not only simplify the way that service departments perform maintenance, but it will also simplify the way that Handy produces these lifts for its customers. The redesigned Standard and S.A.M. lifts have an automatic ratcheting safety mechanism with dual springs that creates a positive lock as the lift is raised. The safety mechanism is easily flipped back to lower the lift, and automatically resets once the lift reaches the bottom. With the automatic reset, there is no more worrying about the operator having to remember to set the safety bar. The capacity on both the Standard and S.A.M. has been boosted from 1,000 pounds to 1,200 pounds, and the maximum lifting height has been raised on both lifts. The Standard 1200 Air Lift features a tabletop work surface of 80 inches by 24 inches, a maximum height of 39 inches, and a minimum height of 8 inches. The S.A.M. 1200 Air Lift features an 84- inch by 24-inch work surface with a maximum height of 39 inches, and a minimum height of 8 inches. The S.A.M. also features the same rear drop-out panel found on the original S.A.M. lift. Both lifts are built tough with domestic steel and feature a durable powder-coat finish. The Standard 1000 and S.A.M. 1000 Air Lifts will continue to be manufactured for a limited time. Handy's core purpose is simplify: mastering efficient solutions from paper to paint, and the team at Handy is confident that these redesigned lifts will live out that purpose.
