FROM THE NATIONAL SECRETARY, cont. members of the Board were present. The meeting opened with prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States. Michael Ciesla, the Society's attorney, met with the Board to review personnel issues. AUDIT COMMITTEE The Audit Committee reported on their search for an auditing firm for the Society's internal audit for the next three years. Two firms were asked to attend the board meeting. The following presented their qualifications: Johnson Lambert, CPA's and Consultants Johnson Lambert is an auditing firm located in Mount Prospect, IL. McGladrey & Pullen LLP, is an auditing firm located in Kansas City, MO, with sites through the country. INVESTMENTS A luncheon meeting was held with the Society's investment team from BMO Global Asset Management. Investments were reviewed for the fourth quarter of 2011 through March 22, 2012. HEARTS AND HANDS UPDATE Rosemary Holland, administrative assistant to National President Margaret Babinat gave a report on usage of the matching funds program Hearts and Hands. Junior events were also covered in the report. COMMITTEE REPORTS YOUTH COMMITTEE Changes made to the junior activity event form were reviewed for approval by the Board. National Director Linda Ortiz gave a letter of resignation from the Youth Committee to National President Margaret Babinat. CONSTITUTION AND LAWS COMMITTEE The Constitution and Laws Committee concluded at 11:30 p.m. The board meeting recessed at 5:25 p.m. with prayer. Friday, March 23, 2012 The March quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Catholic Society of Foresters was called to order by National President Margaret Babinat on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. in the board room of the Home Office. All members of the Board were present. The meeting opened with prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States. SALES REPORT Sales Manager Victor Mensavage reported on the 2012 NCSF Producer Survey – Summary. All life producers received a survey on the Society insurance programs and products. 71 responses were received out of 85 sent. The spring life insurance contest was announced. The top life producer will be awarded a laptop. General Agent Contract The General Agent Contract and overwrite commissions schedule was reviewed. Motion made by National Treasurer Jon Mocol and seconded by National Director Thomas Meyer that Directors approve the general agent contract with commission schedule. Motion passed 11 yes – 0 no. Motion by National Director Loretta Nelson and seconded by National Director Catherine Hensel we accept the minutes of the conference call dated 2/1/2012. Motion passed 11 yes – 0 no. Motion by National Director Catherine Hensel and seconded by Jane Uselman, we accept the minutes from the December 2011 board meeting as corrected. Motion passed 11 yes – 0 no. The Personnel Committee handed out the results of Board Evaluation to the National President, National Vice President, National Secretary and National Treasurer.
