His website is Nutrition-forlife.com and he can be reached Johnreed@yourhealthyfamily.org. NEW BEGINNINGS FOR LIFE H ave you heard the old saying "Every Day is a New Beginning?" It is never more true than when talking about your health and quality of life. Every day is a new opportunity to eat right and to make better choices. It's a new chance to start on a better path to losing weight, being healthy and removing the constant need for medications from taking over your daily existence — medications which sometimes have more side effects than the medical problem you are taking them for in the first place. e truth is coming out about the health benefits of eating a Ketogenic Diet, a diet our forefathers ate on a daily basis and they did not have a tenth of the medical problems we see in today's society. With diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity on the rise, drivers seem to always be near the top of any list as the unhealthiest profession. Unhealthy meals at any of the many places drivers can stop and grab a meal do not help with their choices of so called healthy meals. Are you tired of the constant hunger of the diet roller coaster? How many diets have you tried that just did not work? Stop for a moment and relax. I was the same way. I once weighed more than 250 pounds with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. I was tired every time I had to walk anywhere. at's when I had my new beginning moment. I decided to go back to school and learn the correct way to eat. I became a certified nutritionist and now I help others learn the truth and teach them the right way to get healthy and live a better life. I am still a truck driver on the road every day leased to a carrier. I did it. You can too. And I am off all medication. It starts the way everything starts — making the decision to do the right thing. The rest is easy. Yes, sometimes you fail but every day is a new beginning to start over, and soon you get it right. Start by cutting out the so drinks, candy and snacks and replace that with water and raw almonds. Stop eating bread and products with grain and have raw or steamed vegetables with cold cuts like roast beef or chicken. If you cook in your truck, try steak, chicken or hamburger with cooked vegetables or a salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing topped with chicken or steak. For breakfast have eggs and bacon or sausage and coffee with heavy cream but no sugar. Eat slow and until full but no more. Soon you will find you will start to eat less naturally and you can go longer in between meals without getting hungry. Now you are on your way to a healthier life. Good luck.
