- ARNOLD PALMER It is what made the announcement earlier this year such a shock. Unlikely bedfellows, Quagmire Golf and legendary Arnold Palmer Enterprises struck up an agreement to allow Quagmire the rights to produce a clothing line entitled Arnie. "It was a true honour when we received the phone call from Mr. Palmer's camp asking if we'd be interested in discussing a new Arnie apparel collection. Having worked tremendously hard the past six years to perfect the Quagmire Golf brand's service, quality and distribution, we felt more than confident to take on such a wonderful venture," commented Tait. - RYAN MOORE The line is inspired by Palmer's looks from the 1950's, 60's and 70's. Lines include fitted pants and tops with short plackets and his signature colour of red in that decade (1950's), progressing to wider legged pants wide collars with his predominate blue colour (1960's) and finally slightly wider collars, long plackets, boot cut pants and a more subdued colour palette with grey being a feature colour. Of course Palmer's signature umbrella is woven through many of the designs and for select pieces, the Palmer Performance umbrella will be visible indicating anti-bacterial, quick drying, breathable, odor resistant, moisture wicking and piling and wrinkle resistant fabrics. Other telltale Palmer pieces will bear the silhouette of Mr. Palmer's finish. That iconic finish is unmistakable and will represent one shirt from each collection referred to as a Signature shirt that will be a piece that is almost an exact replica of one of the pieces Mr. Palmer sported. In order to get a true sense of Mr. Palmer's fashions, the Quagmire guys were honored to have access to not only Mr. Palmer's personal collection of photographs but also his home and archives in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, including his actual closet where he still keeps many of the items he wore throughout the decades. What the guys found was that the fashions that were trendy then have come back in vogue now. Mr. Palmer stated, "The Arnie line of apparel represents the styles of clothing that are as popular today as they were in the earlier part of my career.
