Sticking with retro Burgundy beauty Jared Spiegelberg of Armstrong, B.C., employs his 2008 Peterbilt 389 to haul ore sampling and minerals from mines in Yukon, B.C. He has his own authority, and the truck is powered by a 550-hp Cummins and an 18-speed transmission. He's added a magnum bumper and lots of lights. He's also mounted cameras on his trailer to keep an eye on his cargo. Lee Burmeister hauls steel with his 1989 Freightliner cabover equipped with a 425-hp Caterpillar and a 9-speed transmission. A native of Grand Ledge, Mich., Burmeister has added 7-inch pipes and a custom drop visor and bumper in addition to completely custom- izing the interior with wood floors and blue and white vinyl to match the exterior, which he painted himself. He wants to keep the truck looking retro, complete with fuzzy dice hanging on the mirror. This pig flies Kirby Brannon of Greenfield, Ill., drives this 2005 Western Star, which has a 375-hp Mercedes engine and 10-speed transmission. The Road Hogz company driver hauls feed ingredients and hog feed for Hog Inc. A hydraulic pump has been added to the truck, but otherwise it's mostly been kept stock, Brannon says.
