Jim was truly a Jack of all trades and master of most. In 1971 Jim was asked by his good friend Teje Banns and family to help construct the Clubhouse of the then PoCo Valley Golf Club. Upon completion it was one of the largest cedar constructed buildings in the country. Jim then assisted in the installation of the irrigation system, shaping of the greens and fairways and built the maintenance shop. Jimmy was asked by the Banns family to stay on as mechanic. He then built himself a suite as part of the maintenance building and continued as part of the greens crew until his passing at the age of 79. 20000 15000 10000 50000 THE WCTA MEMBERSHIP TRACKER 1000 900 800 700 771 723 718 2010 2011 600 500 400 300 200 100 0 CURRENT Kimber Weenk.......................Harrison Resort Golf Course Tyler Willan .................................The Golf Club at the Rise Gail Saenger................................Interior Health Authority Daryl Adama ....................................Talking Rock Resort Deanne Deppiesse ...........................City of Port Moody Jeff Hughes.................................................City of Airdrie Paul McDonald ..............................Tobiano Golf Course Jimmy worked for the Club for the better part of 40 years. He was an integral part of the Carnoustie course and staff and has left his mark on everything from tee to green. His contribution to the course and daily operations is immeasurable. I am personally forever indebted to the man who taught me so much. He maintained, repaired, re-built and ran every piece of turf equipment imaginable. His talents were unmatched. There was simply nothing he could not do. All that knew Jimmy recognized not only his unique character but the decency, heart and kindness that lied underneath. Jim was my friend and coworker for over 3 decades. He was my family. Dale Ross
