Custom Rigs Reader Rigs Showstopper Mario Yubeta of Tucson, Ariz., drives this 2007 Peterbilt flattop powered by a 550-hp C15 Caterpillar and an 18-speed transmission. The owner-operator is leased to Phoenix-based Diamond Trucking and hauls petroleum. Yubeta bought the truck in 2006 and since has added much of the chrome on the exterior, as well as a gran- ite steering wheel and Rockwood products on the interior. Hard-workin' dump Jim Murphy of Powell, Wyo., uses this 2002 Freightliner Classic to haul dirt, gravel and asphalt intrastate and also in Montana. Murphy, who owns Salt Creek Material Transport, bought the truck in 2010 and kept the truck factory-stock except for the 475-hp Caterpillar he installed in 2011 and the interior upholstery he replaced. The truck was built to haul lowboy trailers, which caused quite a bit of wear and tear to it. Ashby rebuilt the rig himself, installing a 350-hp Cummins and a 13-speed transmission. "We're Autocar specialists," says Ashby, a member of the American Truck Historical Society, who drives the truck to a few shows each year.
