Bloody Knuckles favorite home cooked meal being used for bait. As expected, he took the bait. Then, sometime during dinner – just as the apple pie was being cut, I suspect – Sis casually mentioned how nice it was that I had loaned Rob the Jeep. She then asked smilingly if he had returned it with a full tank of gas. The hook was set. He answered that he hadn't given the Jeep back yet but that he'd be sure to fill tank when he did. Sis then said sweetly, "Didn't you borrow it to go camping? That was weeks ago. Your uncle does a lot for you. Don't you think it is past time to return it?" The fish was landed, but it still had to be filleted. Cheryl was already sharpening the knife, and used it on my poor nephew all the way home. Being nagged at during a 30 minute drive home... well, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Still, a man's gotta do what he has to do. Early the next morning, I get a call from the nephew. He's all apologetic and even kinda philosophical. "Well played, Uncle," he says and then promises to get me my Jeep by the weekend without fail. I am sure that the Jeep will show up Saturday morning, clean, shiny and with a full tank of gas. And if it doesn't, I still have one other card to play. I will call his grandma. She's the one who schooled my sister and even at 88, she is formidable. My poor nephew will never know what hit him!
