Security Systems News caught up with Jackie in March and asked her five questions. COMPANY (ticker) AlarmForce Ind. (AF.TO) Jackie Schmidt American Medical Alert Corp. (AMAC) Axcess, Inc. (AXSI.OB) We hear you’re a “NASCAR junkie.” What are your symptoms? You have the Speed Channel on 24 hours a day—but only on the weekends! I don’t have it on when I’m working. How did you get interested in NASCAR? I grew up in the Midwest [in Iowa] going to dirt tracks with my dad, so I’ve been a racing fan since I was probably 5 years old. ESX will be in Charlotte, home of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Are you going to ESX? Oh, absolutely! I cannot wait to meet [former NFL coach and ESX keynote speaker] Coach Joe Gibbs ... he owns three NASCAR teams ... Most people want to hear Coach Joe talk about football, but I want to hear him talk about NASCAR ... I will definitely be getting a tour of the Hall of Fame as well.” Who’s your favorite driver? My driver is Tony Stewart, who drives No. 14, the Office Depot car ... he started in dirt track in Indiana so his background is kind of the same as what I grew up going to. What’s your favorite movie? My favorite movie of all time is “It’s a Wonderful Life.” ... I watch that movie every year at Christmas. It drives my family crazy ... I know what George Bailey is going to say before George Bailey says it. —Tess Nacelewicz Periodicals Postage Rates paid at Yarmouth, ME and additional mailing office.
