Ghislain Guiot, general manager of CFMOTO France, organized the event. The harsh and desolate Outback proved to be an ideal endurance test for CFMOTO's 800cc range, including the ZFORCE 800EX, UFORCE 800 and CFORCE 800. "As you know, the Australian Outback is renowned for being the driest place on earth, so what better place to test the reliability of ATVs than to take them here. Under such extreme conditions, I believe a lot that the success of this journey could fully convince people the quality of CFMOTO's off-road vehicles," Guiot said. The outback adventure began in South Australia where the crew made tracks in the white sandy beaches of West Beach before hit- ting the trails at Arden Hills. From there they headed to the Rawnsley Park Station, then headed five hours north of Ade- laide to spend a few days exploring the Flinders Ranges before packing up and heading to Bro- ken Hill in outback New South Wales. The journey con- tinued south through Wentworth, before head- ing to Mildura in regional Victoria then back into South Australia, where the crew explored national parks and spent a day riding and film- ing at the ATV heaven of Kingston at one of the few privately-owned oceanfront sand dune properties in the country. From Kingston, they returned to Adelaide. Take a look at a recap of their daily encounters along with photos on powersportsbusiness.com. BRP TO ADD THIRD PLANT IN MEXICO BRP Inc. is reinforcing its presence in Mexico by investing in a new facility in Juárez, Mexico, to expand its Can-Am product offering and meet future demand in off-road segments. The 500,000-square-foot facility represents an investment of an estimated 654 million Mexican pesos ($50.4 million) and could result in the creation of approximately 900 permanent jobs upon completion. "The off-road industry is strong and grow- ing fast and our Can-Am all-terrain and side- by-side vehicles continue to make inroads in the market place. We are investing in a new facility to meet future demand and in expec- tation of entering new ORV segments," said José Boisjoli, BRP's president and CEO. "This investment will also provide us with space for the potential insourcing of certain operations, and will bring logistics closer to our manufac- turing operations." The construction will start in the upcom- ing months and the manufacturing opera- tions are expected to begin by the end of 2015. This project is expected to be com- pleted by the end of 2017. "The location was a logical choice for BRP as we already have a facility in Juárez where operations are going very well. Both plants will be geographically close to each other," said Sylvain Blanchette, vice president, Opera- tions in Mexico. "The culture and values of BRP are well established among our employees and we have a strong talent pool in Juárez." This will represent BRP's third manufactur- ing facility in Mexico. MINNESOTA MUD NATIONALS EMBARKS ON YEAR 2 High Lifter Products owner and CEO Scott Smith is thrilled to bring the mud back to Minnesota with the 2nd annual High Lifter Quadna Mud Nationals Presented by Polaris, set for June 6-8 at Quadna Mountain Park. "Creating another mud riding event in the northern part of the country was a natural expansion for us," Smith said. "Last year's event was successful, and we're looking for- ward to another great event. What really sets us apart from other events in Minnesota is that this is a riding event compared to typical ATV exhibitions where you walk around and then watch racing. With Quadna Mud Nationals, you can ride the trails, participate in events, watch racing, shop with vendors and camp with your friends and family!" There will be exciting competitions such as the Mudbog, Obstacle Course Challenge and Poker Run, with cash and prizes to be awarded to competitors. Vendors include Polaris, Can- Am, ITP, EPI and more. PSB CFMOTO distributors from China, Russia and France fared well on the vehicles during an 11-day test in the Australian Outback.
