The rate for the first hour of wait time will be $10 per hour, paid in 15-minute increments. The second hour of wait time and on will be paid the normal automatic detention rate of $20 per hour. Marten plans to increase the first hour rate in September by at least $2 and eventually will bring it up to $20 per hour. Honors Con-way Freight announced that drivers Tom Syme and Tom Strissel both reached three million consecutive accident-free miles, the less- than-truckload company's second and third drivers to achieve the feat. Syme, of Palatine, Ill., started with Con-way Freight as one of its first employees 30 years ago. Strissel, of Chicago, also started with the company in 1984. e.w. wyLie CorP. of West Fargo, N.D., named Montgomery "Monty" Jeffcott as its 2013 Driver of the Year. Jeffcott, of Manitou Springs, Colo., received a bonus check and leather jacket. FLoriDa roCK anD tanK LineS of Jacksonville awarded professional driver Demetri East of the com- pany's Pensacola terminal with a new 2014 Chevy Silverado truck as part of its "Truck Giveaway." To be eligible, the terminal had to meet the company's accident fre- quency ratio goal, which included no driving accidents or other mishaps such as product spills or product contamination for the entire year. Drivers from the termi- nal were eligible if they had been employed the entire fiscal year.
