O U T D O O R P O W E R E Q U I P M E N T JULY 2014 29 JRCO Hooker soft-plug aerator The JRCO Hooker soft-plug aerator offers zero-turn maneuverability. The tine rotors utilize the forward force of the mower to make holes up to 3 inches deep. The Hooker pulls loose plugs of soil, eliminating messy hard cores and soil compac- tion. The Hooker can aerate 1-1/2 acres per hour at 5 mph. JRCO, Inc. JRCO Tine Rake Dethatcher The JRCO Tine Rake Dethatcher delivers a quick spring green-up by removing embedded thatch and leaves and comb- ing up matted turfgrass while mowing. Flexible tines allow zero-turn maneuverability while raking. It is available in 36-, 46- and 60-inch widths and quickly attaches to the JRCO universal mount bar with clevis pins. JRCO, Inc. Redexim Speed-Seed WB The Redexim Speed-Seed WB is an ideal machine to carry out all overseeding needs. It works well on all turf areas, and is fitted with a long-life 6.5-hp. Honda engine and hydrostatic transmission, which produces an infinite range of forward and reverse speeds. This Honda engine makes it a powerful, but highly maneuverable machine. All operating controls are mounted on the handlebars for easy use, and maneuverability is made easy by the side wheels, which transfer the ma- chine's weight when turning. The grass seed is spread accurately the full 24-inch width of the spiked area, by the precision twin-matched stainless-steel aperture sections. A cam gauge and lever control the seeding rates. A rear-mounted brush sweeps the seed into the thousands of created holes, leaving a groomed finish. Redexim North America, Inc. Turf Teq power rake The Turf Teq power rake is an ideal tool for turf renovation and all types of seedbed preparation. The unit is equipped with a 36-inch-wide drum, and the pivot angle of the drum can be adjusted to the left or right from the operator's position. Other features include a hydrostatic transmission, 13-hp. Honda engine and on-the-go differential lock. Turf Teq, LLC Stihl MM 55 C-E Yard Boss The 27.2-cc MM 55 C-E Stihl Yard Boss is a complete lawn care system. It comes standard as a cultivator and easily transitions to a lawn aerator (RL-MM), dethatcher (MF-MM) and more with other optional attachments. The Easy2Start system uses dual-spring technology to eliminate the need for a strong, fast pull of the starting cord. It also eliminates the resistance and jerks felt as compres- sion is created in the engine's cylinder. The RL-MM lawn aerator attachment (pictured) creates a series of slits into the soil of the lawn. These holes allow air, moisture, fertilizers and other nutrients to get to the roots. The MF-MM lawn dethatcher attachment picks up what nature leaves behind, grabbing dead grass and other accumulated materials directly from the top of the soil. This attachment cleans up the lawn, allowing in more sunlight and nutrients. Stihl Inc. TurfEx Thatch, Groom 'N' Sweep Package TurfEx offers the Thatch, Groom 'N' Sweep Pack- age, an attachment system designed specially for zero-turn mowers. This versatile attachment can be converted from a sweeper to a dethatcher without having to purchase additional equipment. Available in both 48- and 60-inch widths (models MT480 and MT600, respectively), the Thatch, Groom 'N' Sweep Package uses a universal mount that easily fits the form of most major manufacturers' zero-turn mowers. The attachment includes 2 rows of brush sections, which can be replaced with spring-mounted tines to turn the sweeper into a dethatcher in just a matter of min- utes. To switch between both, the operator simply removes a containment plate, and then slides the brush or tine sections in and out of the housing.
