ATVS Interest in older ATVs is strong, with 22 of the 50 vehicles on the most researched list more than 10 years old. Even more surprisingly, only two of the ATVs on this list are newer than model year 2008. ATVs on the top 50 list showed an average 6 percent drop in KBB.com web hits versus last year. The most researched ATV list is evenly split between sport ATVs and utility ATVs. Three manufacturers hold 45 of the top 50 spots on the list of most researched ATVs: Yamaha with 18, Honda with 15 and Polaris with 12 total. UTILITY VEHICLES Conversely, interest in utility vehicles is stronger for newer machines. Only four of the vehicles on the list of the top 50 most researched utility vehicles are more than 10 years old, and 22 vehicles are model- year 2011 or newer. Further demonstrat- ing this trend is the fact that KBB.com web hits for vehicles between the 2010 and 2012 model years were up an average of 18 percent, whereas interest declined an average of 9 per- cent for vehicles between the 2004 and 2009 model years. Polaris dominates the list of the most researched utility vehicles, holding 33 of the top 50 spots and claiming an average increase in KBB.com web hits of 9 percent. SCOOTERS Interest in scooters was down for the first half of 2014, with an average decrease of 8 percent in KBB.com web hits for models on the top 50 most researched scooters list. However, interest in scooters is broad, with no single manufacturer or engine size dominat- ing the list. The larger scooters on the list declined least in KBB.com web hits, with an average drop of only 4 percent, while the middle range of 250cc to 400cc fared the worst, with an average drop of 11 percent. Larger manufacturers took most of the spots on the top 50 most researched scooters list, with Honda leading the count with 17, fol- lowed by Yamaha at 14, Suzuki at 13 and Vespa at five. Comparatively newer manufacturer, Genuine, holds one spot in the top 50 most researched scooter list with its 2009 Buddy 125.
