The new store, which cost $6.5 million, is more than 20,000 square feet larger than the previous location, reported the Richmond Times-Dispatch. INDUSTRY SUPPLIER NAMED 2014 NEBRASKA MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR The Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce named Lincoln Industries as the recipient of the 2014 Nebraska Manufacturer of the Year award for large companies. The award was presented in last month in Grand Island at the annual Manufacturing and Distribution Executive Summit. Lincoln Industries was recognized for the innovative approaches in manufacturing and people practices that have led to its signifi- cant growth. Tom Hance, president, accepted the honor on behalf of Lincoln Industries stating, "Lin- coln Industries have benefited greatly by locat- ing our business in Nebraska. And when you look at the many reasons why, one stands out — the people of Nebraska, who have played a role in our successful growth. Customers, sup- pliers and of course, the many great people who work at Lincoln Industries, have all played an important role in our success. Nebraskans have a unique work ethic, and honesty, that makes doing business here rewarding. In the end, we are proud to be a Nebraska company." Lincoln Industries is the nation's leading sup- plier of products requiring high-performance metal finishing. Lincoln Industries has main- tained long-term relationships with some of the most admired companies in the world, including Harley-Davidson, Kenworth and Peterbilt, Tenneco Automotive, Pella and John Deere. BAD BOY BUGGIES HAS ISSUED A RECALL OF MORE THAN 4,400 SIDE-BY-SIDES Bad Boy Buggies has issued a recall of more than 4,400 side-by-sides. PSB HOT NEWS CONTINUED FROM PAGE 3 DEVLIN MUNION Milan show to debut 20 new OEM models With 1,000 exhibitors already in the books for the Nov. 4-9 industry trade show in Milan, EICMA is well on its way to celebrating a suc- cessful 100th anniversary. Dubbed as "the most important event in the world dedicated to two wheels," the Italian can't-miss show is expected to debut about 20 new OEM models for 2015. Similar to AIMExpo, the first two days of the show are for trade and media only. About 36 percent of the vendors are international, and 30 percent are new, or brands that did not attend last year. "A celebration has deep roots and becomes a bridge with the future only when it is rich in content. For this reason we decided that the 100 years of the exhibition represent the industrial and cultural heritage of the two wheels sector," said Antonello Montante, president of EICMA. "Intensifying our work with all the players and offering the public the best means to empha- size Italy's role at international level. Although Europe in the last five years has suffered a decline in [two-wheel] production of 54 per- cent, our country still maintains its leadership by being the first manufacturer in Europe. Our commitment, as always, and even more in this edition, remains oriented both to support and promote the whole supply chain and to manage all the possibilities for individual and collective growth, to strengthen existing relationships and meet a wide audience that thinks of the exposed vehicles as a concrete solution for sustainable mobility, and also as icons of great passion. In other words, we want to confirm, once again, with the facts, that EICMA is the world most important event dedicated to the two-wheels. " THE MARKETPLACE EICMA has attracted more than 28,000 exhibi- tors and 25 million visitors during its 100-year run. The total number of visitors is equal to the population of Austria, Switzerland and Portu- gal combined. Over the past five years, the global produc- tion of motorized two-wheel vehicles (2WD) has grown by 39 percent in terms of units. The Western countries have instead suffered a decline of 59 percent of production (Europe: 54 percent decline). Italy, despite a decline of 52 percent, still leads European production of 2WD. Even the European production of bicycles has declined since 2007, with exception for Italy, where in 2013 the production of bicycles has increased by 22 percent compared to 2012. Despite the growth in exports, the trade balance of European two-wheelers remained negative at €4.7 billion. In Italy, however, the trade balance in 2013 was positive at €1 billion. This figure puts Italy in third place in the world (behind China and Japan) for active balance of trade value. In Europe there are around 32 million motorbikes and mopeds, including 8.6 million in Italy alone. The turnover of manufacturers who have their own production facilities in Italy is esti- mated at $3 billion and €700,000 (53 percent of European sales); companies that have their headquarters in Italy employ approximately 15,000 employees (56 percent of the Euro- pean workforce). Even more important is the turnover of manufacturers of parts and components for the market of two wheels: 1 billion and €600,000 (66 percent of turnover European) and 14,600 employees (71 percent of staff employed throughout Europe). The total of the market for two wheels (scooters and motorcycles registered over 50cc) from January to September 2014 reaches 157,011 vehicles, up 1.4 percent compared to the same period last year. PSB EIMCA to celebrate 100th anniversary Italian brands like Vespa soak up the spotlight during EICMA.
