Welcome to Milwaukee County. As Milwaukee County Executive, I invite you to share the incom- parable opportunities our county offers this and every spring for family activities and music, espe- cially in our National Gold Medal Winning Park System. The County offers many family-friendly activities such visiting one of the top-rated zoos in the country, the Mitchell Park Domes, or the Boerner Botanical Gardens. Depending on the weather, you could tee off at one our beautiful golf courses, which are open to the public seven days a week. Featured in this issue of KEY Milwaukee is the current special exhibition at the Milwaukee Art Museum, an architectural masterpiece. Milwaukee's spectacular Lakefront has a lot to offer this spring season, includ- ing biking, skating, sailing at the yacht club, volleyball, great food and drink at the always vibrant Bradford Beach, running, or walking along Lake Michigan or on the Oak Leaf Recreational Trail. Please make sure to enjoy what Milwaukee County has to offer. You, your family and friends will be glad you did. Sincerely, Chris Abele Milwaukee County Executive When the weather cools in Milwaukee, there are plenty of ways to stay warm and continue to enjoy the great things that are part of our city's winter season. The performing arts remain active in the winter at a wide range of venues including the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts, the Pabst Theater, the Milwaukee Theatre, and the Broadway Theater. From music to drama, you'll find a rewarding diversion and a cozy seat. Cultural institutions, including the Milwaukee Art Museum, Discovery World and the Milwaukee Public Museum are all wonderful destinations. Their collec- tions and activities provide an escape from cold-weather boredom. Our professional sports teams offer lots of opportuni- ties to cheer whether you're a basketball, soccer, or hockey fan. And college basketball energizes down- town Milwaukee with Marquette University and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee contests. If you're really ambitious, get outside to enjoy skating or a stroll along the lakefront. You will find Milwaukee is never too cold to have fun. Sincerely, Tom Barrett, Mayor
