MIDWEST GRAPE & WINE CONFERENCE Scene At: 2012 12 CONFERENCE & TRADE SHOW 1 10 he 2012 Midwest Grape & Wine Conference, held Feb. 9-12 at the St. Charles Convention Cen- ter in St. Charles, Mo., continued its expansion in 2012, drawing more than 1,000 attendees and trade show exhibitors. Since the 2011 conference, when Vineyard & Winery Management became a partner in organizing the event, the number of attendees has increased by 100, and the number of exhibitor booths has increased 33%. Program moderators included a line- up of heavy hitters specializing in viticul- ture, enology and marketing, including Keith Striegler, Ph.D., University of Mis- souri (viticulture); Marco LiCalzi, Uni- versity of Missouri (enology); Elizabeth Slater of In Short Direct Marketing (mar- keting); and Paul Wagner of Balzac Com- munications (marketing).
