Works by these master artisans are displayed and they will demonstrate their artistry. Special attractions in 2015 include invited inter- national performers and artisans. Also part of Folk Fair is an exhibit by Sister Cities International featuring the winners and finalists for the organization's 2015 Young Artists and Authors Showcase with the theme, "Connecting Communities for Peace and Prosperity." In the World Café, food booths offer cuisine authentically prepared and priced to encourage sam- pling. The Callen Construc- tion Chef's Stage features chefs preparing traditional cuisine, including Chef Ala- melu Vairavan, a local chef preparing Indian cuisine who has her own cooking show on PBS. The International Bazaar is perfect for holiday shop- ping with items to fit every budget. On Heritage Lane, visitors interact with ethnic volunteers to learn about many different cultures. At the All Nations Theater, groups perform traditional music and dance, while the Inter- national Stage features dance performances by young people. At the Tanzhauz (Music Pavil- ion), attendees dance and sing along. On Friday, Holiday Folk Fair International hosts a Naturalization Ceremony at 2:30pm and the Education Day/ Cultural Awareness Program is held for fourth- through eighth- grade students. On Sunday, the Around the World 5k Run/Walk benefitting The Salva- tion Army of Milwaukee County starts at 9am and a religious service is held at 10:30am. Advance tickets are $10 each, with family four-packs for $36, and are available for purchase on-line at folkfair.org. Admission is $12 adults; $8 children 6-12; $10 62 and over; Free under age 5 and military personnel with ID card. C E L E B R AT I N G LIGHT " C E L E B R AT I N G T H E C U LT U R E O F L I G H T " This year's theme is "Celebrate the Culture of Light." Al Durtka, presi- dent of the International Institute, explains that the United Nations has proclaimed 2015 as the "International Year of Light and Light-Based Technologies." "Tradition - al celebrations of lights are found throughout the world. We continue to safeguard and pass on these treasured traditions of light that have been passed down to us with such great care."
