Lakefront Festival of Arts one of top 25 in U.S. THE MILWAUKEE Art Museum's 2012 Lakefront Festival of Arts (LFOA), one of the top 25 art festi- vals in the country, continues to grow with a new late-night event combining music and art. The festival June 15-17 fills the grounds of the muse- um along Lake Michigan for three days – noon-11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. The family-friendly event features work by more than 180 jury-selected artists from around the coun- try, food selections to satisfy any cravings, live music, a silent auction, a wine garden, a sculpture garden, and children's activities. Under cover of a state-of-the-art tents, festivalgoers can visit one-on-one with the artists as they explore the jewelry, paintings, ceramics, metalwork, and more in the different booths. Local groups entertain at the outdoor stage through- out the day. On Friday night in a special Late Night program this year music continues until 11 p.m. at the Milwaukee Magazine Wine Garden. From 5-11 p.m., the lineup includes bands such as I'm Not a Pilot, Group of Altos and Evan Christian. Relax beneath the museum's world-famous Calatrava-designed wings and enjoy specialty wines or Jimmy Luv's Bloody Marys while gazing at the festival grounds and Lake Michigan. At the Silent Auction, bid on artwork donated by festival artists beginning the week prior to the festi- val (online) or on site through the auction's close on Sunday, June 17. LFOA admission is $15 at the gate, and includes admission to the museum. A three-day, $20 pass is available. Admission for Milwaukee Art Museum members is $8.
