Welcome to Milwaukee County and all we have to offer, from our award-winning parks to our nationally recognized zoo. Every season is wonderful in Wisconsin, but summertime is when things really come alive. Our popular festival season kicks off with Polish Fest at Maier Festival Park June 15-17. Summerfest, the world's largest music festival, follows in the weeks after that. This year's lineup once again offers up something for every kind of musical taste. For a different kind of art, the Lakefront Festival of Arts features 170 jury-selected artists from across the nation. It's been named one of the top 25 art festivals in the country and is a great opportunity to enjoy the Lakefront and the Milwaukee Art Museum. The warmer weather also offers a great opportunity to take advantage of our gorgeous Milwaukee County parks; from golf courses to bike and hiking paths to sun-filled picnic areas. Please make sure to enjoy what Milwaukee County has to offer. You, your family and friends will be glad you did. Sincerely, Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele Sincerely, Tom Barrett, Mayor Milwaukee offers lots of great choices. We enjoy a wide array of restaurants, museums, entertainment and parks. There are also lots of ways to travel to and from Milwaukee. People arrive by automobile and air, rail and water. One thing that sets us apart is travel convenience. Amtrak's popular Hiawatha Service connects downtown Milwaukee with Chicago multiple times a day. Mitchell International Airport is among the nation's easiest to navigate. Major highways move traffic quickly north, south, and west. And if you're traveling east – across Lake Michigan – the Lake Express High Speed Ferry is a fabulous way to go. The Lake Express is a tenant of the city's port, and the relationship between Milwaukee city government and the ferry is strong. In eight years of Lake Express operation, the Port of Milwaukee has earned $1 million in lease, parking and per-passenger fees. More importantly, the Lake Express has brought increased tourism to our community. In Milwaukee, getting here can be a relaxing part of your adventure.
