NEW PRODUCTS Husqvarna unveils Fast Tractor at NASCAR Hall of Fame Husqvarna recently teamed up with the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Lowe's and five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion, Jimmie Johnson, to launch a new riding mower — the Husqvarna Fast Tractor — that speeds through yard work, leaving consumers with more time to spend doing the things they love. It's the fastest tractor in its class, reaching speeds of 7-8 mph. The Fast Tractor is so fast it now has a role in a popular racing-themed video game. Working with Autumn Games and their hit racing franchise, Jimmie Johnson's "Anything with an Engine," Husqvarna developed "Husky Hank," a downloadable character who can be raced in the game against other in-game personalities. Husqvarna officially launched the Fast Tractor during a special event at the NASCAR Hall of Fame viewing party for the Texas Sprint Cup Series race; there, attendees were able to play "Anything with an Engine" and see the Fast Tractor first hand. With its ergonomic design features and heavy-duty functionality, the Husqvarna Fast Tractor combines power and performance to create a more enjoyable mowing experience. The Fast Tractor comes standard with a 24-hp. Kohler engine; 20-inch rear tires; F7 hydrostatic transmission; 48-inch reinforced cutting deck; and comfort features such as a high-back seat with armrests, push/pull button blade engagement and an ergonomically designed user interface. Husqvarna Stihl introduces the industry's first electronically controlled fuel-injection system on handheld outdoor power equipment Stihl offers another industry first with the TS 500i Stihl Cutquik. With the handheld OPE industry's first electronically controlled fuel-injection system, the TS 500i increases power by 17 percent while only increasing weight by 6 percent, as compared to the Stihl TS 420. Powerful, lightweight and well balanced, the Stihl TS 500i is designed for superior handling during the toughest jobs. It comes complete with a low-emission engine that provides optimal torque throughout the rpm range and eliminates the need for a choke, simplifying the starting procedure. The X2 air filtration system is virtually maintenance free and maintains a 99.96-percent cleaning efficiency. The Stihl computer-mapped fuel-injection system continuously and precisely determines fuel mixture, injected quantity, injection and ignition timing. The standard electronic water-control feature allows for easy and efficient water-flow adjustment while cutting. The water-control feature remembers the last setting that was used, and water flow automatically stops at idle speed and starts again when the throttle is engaged. New with the TS 500i, a diagnostic application is available to help dealers troubleshoot issues and streamline service. Stihl Inc. Ecolawn Applicator now available with deflector shield The Ecolawn Applicator — a self-propelled, multi-purpose applicator for top dressing and applying soil mixes, compost, natural fertilizers, and granular lime to existing turf — is now available with a deflector shield attachment. This attachment allows landscaping professionals to easily spread compost precisely where they want it — directly under a cedar hedge, along a cut embankment, or under a crop row. With the Ecolawn Applicator's easy-fill hopper and maneuverability, lawncare professionals can spread in a 180- degree, forward-directed arc, which is ideal for top dressing. The Ecolawn Applicator is designed to handle commercial projects or work smoothly and efficiently in compact residential areas. Sustainable landscaping is the fastest-growing business segment in the Green Industry, and the Ecolawn Applicator is well suited to serve this market. Ecolawn Gravely adds diesel model to Pro-Turn 400 XDZ Series Gravely recently announced the expansion of its Pro-Turn 400 Series commercial zero-turn mower lineup with the introduction of a diesel model. Available with a 60- or 72-inch deck, the new mower boasts a 25-hp. Kubota diesel engine to deliver excellent performance and efficiency. Gravely's diesel and gasoline Pro-Turn 400 Series models are designed for comfort and ease of use to keep operators running at maximum productivity. The series features the industry's first air-suspension seat with added seat isolation to provide a smooth, comfortable ride for all-day operation. The air pressure can be adjusted with the touch of a button, and comfort foam feels more like an office chair than a standard mower seat. The seat rides smoothly over rough terrain, allowing faster mowing speeds and increased productivity. A rubber isolated foot platform also minimizes vibration for a more comfortable ride. The Pro-Turn 400 Series units also feature a 13.4-gallon fuel capacity, as well as large, flat-free, front tires. The 7-gauge fabricated and welded X-Factor Deck features an easy-to-operate deck-lift system, which is aimed at reducing operator fatigue; a dial-adjust height-of-cut system; and maintenance-free XL Spindles. The unit also includes standard foldable ROPS, designated front and rear tie-down points, double-sided anti-scalp brackets, and heavy-duty side- discharge chute. The Pro-Turn 400 Series units are covered by Gravely's 3-year limited commercial warranty. Gravely, an Ariens Co. 28 OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT www.outdoorpowerequipment.com
