26 JANUARY 2017 OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT www.outdoorpowerequipment.com EQUIPMENT & TECHNOLOGY FOCUS E N G I N E S & F U E L A D D I T I V E S B3C Fuel Solutions offers products to combat fuel-related issues B3C Fuel Solutions offers products that can be used to test, fix, and prevent fuel-related issues in outdoor power equipment. 1) Test: Knowing fuel quality is critical to fixing and preventing fuel-related issues. Dealers can use B3C's Gasoline Test Swabs to check gas to see if it is fresh, marginal (decaying) or bad, and if water is present. The service department can then inform the customer the status of the gas and use it as part of your diagnostic service. This also informs the dealer if the repair is covered under warranty. It only takes a few minutes to perform the test, and it can be done right in front of the customer. 2) Fix: B3C's Mechanic In A Bottle synthetic fuel additive works in 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines. It removes all varnish in the fuel system without having to remove the carburetor, removes carbon deposits and water, reconditions rubber and plastic components, and revitalizes old fuel. Mechanic In A Bottle rejuvenates fuel systems, so they start efficiently and operate in top condition. 3) Prevent: How can customers make sure that a unit will start? By using B3C's Ethanol Shield fuel stabilizer in the gas at all times, the fuel will stay fresh, and ethanol will not be an issue. The fuel will not be the reason the engine will not start. This means that there is an actual issue with the engine that needs service and very well could be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. B3C Fuel Solutions LLC Briggs & Stratton's Vanguard Oil Guard System Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power recently introduced the Vanguard Oil Guard System on its Vanguard 810 and Big Block commercial engines, a first-of-its-kind solution for the commercial turf market that offers major productivity gains by allowing contractors to operate a commercial mower for 500 hours between oil changes. The Vanguard Oil Guard System continuously exchanges oil between the engine and a large remote oil reservoir located external to the engine. It's a revolutionary design for a commercial mower that protects engine oil from thermal breakdown, which extends oil maintenance intervals to 500 hours and produces a cooler-running engine. And because operators have direct access to the oil filter and drain tube, changing the oil is quicker, easier and mess-free. The result is a 60-percent savings in oil maintenance per unit and a more productive commercial mower. Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power Briggs & Stratton expands Just Check & Add technology In 2017, Briggs & Stratton's Just Check & Add technology will be available on more walk mowers across more brands as the company brings the innovation to its 625ex Series engine. Just Check & Add simplifies lawn mower maintenance, as owners no longer need to change the oil — simply check and add when needed (under normal use conditions). Engineers at Briggs & Stratton designed the engines to keep the oil cooler and cleaner, eliminating the need to change it. The automotive-style paper air cleaner element and the improved oil fill tube with extended flange protect the engines from debris, keeping the oil clean. Additionally, the overhead valve design with its innovative scroll design and cooling package allows the engines to run cooler and reduces the oil temperature. Briggs & Stratton Corp. Briggs & Stratton Vanguard Oil Briggs & Stratton recently introduced Vanguard full synthetic 15W-50 engine oil, which provides superior engine protection for the most demanding commercial applications. It is available in both 1-quart and 5-quart bottles at local Briggs & Stratton dealers nationwide. With less oil consumption, Vanguard Oil provides longer oil life. The zinc ingredient provides anti-wear protection from metal engine components, and the high-quality detergent ensures lower engine deposits as engine oil wears. Whether it faces outdoor temperatures as high as 130 degrees or temperatures as low as 20 degrees, Vanguard Oil provides easy starting and maximum protection for commercial small engines. Vanguard Oil is warranty- certified and suitable for use in air-cooled 4-cycle small engines. It is recommended for use in lawn and garden equipment and pressure washers, and it's especially effective in continuous-use commercial and/or industrial equipment such as zero-turn riders, lawn tractors, stand-on mowers, and wide-area-walk mowers. Briggs & Stratton Corp. Briggs & Stratton 5-in-1 Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment & Stabilizer Briggs & Stratton 5-in-1 Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment & Stabilizer not only protects engine components against pre-ignition and other low-octane events, but also against the harmful, corrosive effects of ethanol due to moisture. In addition, it maintains fuel stability for up to 3 years. With triple anti-oxidants to stabilize fuel, dual-corrosion inhibitors and metal de-activators to protect the metal engine components from rust and corrosion, and a powerful detergent that cleans the engine while it runs, Briggs & Stratton 5-in-1 Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment and Stabilizer protects gasoline engines and helps them run efficiently. This product is available in 1/2-ounce pouches, as well as 4-, 8- and 16-ounce bottles. Briggs & Stratton Corp.
