GIE+EXPO announces opening performer for Friday concert THE 2012 GREEN INDUSTRY & EQUIPMENT EXPO (GIE+EXPO) — which will take place Wednesday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 26, at Louisville's Kentucky Exposition Center — announced Sept. 18 that it has added an opening act to its free concert lineup. On Friday, Louisville native Louisville native and up-and-coming country star, Olivia Henken, will open for Candy Coburn in downtown Louisville at 4th Street Live at 8 p.m. Coburn, who will sign autographs at the booth of the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) from 3 to 4:30 p.m. earlier that day, will follow Henken at 9 p.m. Henken was born and raised in Louisville, and the city has clearly supported her Olivia Henken hometown pride. This year has been big for her — she was invited to play at Thunder Over Louisville; her band won a local radio station's Battle of the Bands contest to open for Charlie Daniels; and she was asked to record "DerbyTown," a tribute to Louisville's famous Kentucky Derby and the Kentucky Derby Festival. If you want to rock out and watch a new country bombshell before she makes it big, this is your chance. Olivia's debut album, "Ride," is a mix of country rock and soulful ballads, similar to the styles of country superstars Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert. Other concerts at this year's GIE+EXPO are Kansas, 9 p.m. on Wednesday; and The Trishas, 7:30 p.m., and the Eli Young Band, 9 p.m. on Thursday. The Thursday concerts are sponsored by Nissan Commercial Vehicles.
