From the National Secretary, cont. from page 13 Sales Department's Report Sales Manager Victor Mensavage reported on the activities in the sales department. Creative Director and Assistant Editor Jennifer Bernau reviewed the bids for printing the next four issues of the National Catholic Forester magazine. The numbers below reflect business processed from January 1, 2013 to September 17, 2013: • uly-September J – New Life Sales: $10,739.70 New Life Sales YTD: $27,722.35 2013 Goal: $200,000 % of Goal Achieved: 12% – New Annuity Sales: $1,052,160.12 New Annuity Sales YTD: $13,223,941.54 2013 Goal: $8,100,000 % of Goal Achieved: 163% The report also covered recruiting, a sales contest, and products. Motion by National Director Jon Mocol and seconded by National Director Loretta Nelson, that the printer of the magazine for 2014 be Brown Printing. Motion passed 9 – Yes. Acting National President Margaret Schmitt introduced Karen Kruger as the Society's new fraternal coordinator. Continuation of task force work and preparation for recommendations to finance committee from the 2010 National Convention. The finance committee met to discuss the salaries and job descriptions prior to the call for candidates. Present in the Home Office were Barbara Mages and Betty Schuchardt. On the conference call were Jeanette Kline, Barbara Arp, Connie Morris and Mary Francis Harris. Patty Gassner was contacted later due to her work schedule. The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m. National Treasurer Jon Mocol and Executive Vice President Jay Schenk reported on the American Fraternal Alliance annual conference that they attended. Reports were given by the Constitution Task Force The constitution task force and education task force work will continue. The Board went into closed session. The meeting recessed at 5:10 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 The September quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Catholic Society of Foresters was called to order by Acting National President Margaret Schmitt on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 8:14 a.m. – all members of the Board were present, except National Director Carol Clauson. The meeting opened with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance of the Flag of the United States. Motion by National Director Thomas Meyer and seconded by National Director Catherine Hensel that the Board of Directors accept the consent calendar items for the September 2013 Board meeting. Motion passed 9 – Yes. Motion by National Director Catherine Hensel and seconded by National Director Thomas Meyer that the Board of Directors accept the July 26 & 27 board meeting minutes.
