Dianne Green started April 22nd in the death claim position. Deborah Kidd assumed the compliant analyst position. Lori Newberg came into the office April 17th to present 2012's asset adequacy analysis. Nicole Ezell from ADP presented at the employee meeting May 8th a customer service program: "Give them the Pickle" which teaches us to go the extra mile for everyone. On May 4th I traveled to Freeman-SD for the Southeastern District Association of the Sioux Falls Diocese. I worked with Darlene Tycz from Holy Rosary Court 198 in conducting the 11:30 a.m. meeting with lunch to follow. Past National Director Jeanette Kline was also in attendance. After a prayer for deceased NCSF members, I was presented a silver teaspoon of South Dakota. On May 20th I presented a $4,000 college scholarship to Clay Waterbury, St. Ludmilla Court 376, Chelsea in Tama-IA. I also attended the Clear Creek-Amana High School Awards Ceremony and presented a $4,000 college scholarship to Lauren Henry, Mother of Perpetual Help Court 769, Fairfax. We are working with Steimla & Associates reviewing a simplified issue and a final expense plan. Joe Steimla will be present on June 6th to answer all your questions. Sandra Tardi resigned as our senior accountant May 15th. We are working with two outside venders; Accountemps and Select Staffing to advance our process of interviewing for her position. We are severing our contract with ADP June 30th. We are in the process of interviewing other PEO's. SOI is located in Oak Brook-IL; Midwest HR is located in Woodridge-IL; and SCI is located in Oak Brook-IL David Quirsfeld, a product specialist, will retire June 14th, his position will not be replaced. His duties will be divided between the sales support staff. The officers reviewed and approved the 990 fillings on May 1st. The officers reviewed and approved the quarterly statement May 9th. I meet with Jay Schenk every Friday for updates on Victor Mensavage's and Jennifer Bernau's activities. I had the honor of being in attendance for the installation of the new Archbishop of Dubuque, Most Reverend Michael Jackles on May 30th. The Johnson Lambert auditing firm were in the office the week of March 18-29. Lena came several other days to pick up and review information. The state examiners finished with the December 2011 audit with an exit interview on May 3rd. There were a few minor issues that were addressed. Chang, the actuary examiner came in the following week, May 6-10, to complete his portion of the audit. Chang's exit interview disclosed that, in his history as an actuary examiner, this is only the third company that there would not be any write-ups and that Lori Newberg is an excellent choice for the Society's actuary.
