4 • JANUARY 2014 • WORLD FENCE NEWS Contents Editor's Corner Get the most out of your FENCETECH experience As illustrated in last month's issue, which previewed the upcoming FENCETECH convention and trade show, there is an awful lot to see and do there. To get the most out of the time and money that you devote to attending, you should prepare a "game plan," so to speak, to make your visit as efficient and productive as possible. The show will be held March 6-8, 2014 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, where it has been located in the past. To assist in your planning, World Fence News contributing editor Jim Lucci has written a bonus article this month that lays out specific steps you can take to get the most from the show. You will want to plan to visit with suppliers with whom you already deal, of course, and also check out the exhibits of those who are showing products that might fit into your company's offerings. We presented a floor plan and list of exhibit booths in the December issue to help you chart your visits, and you can also find this information on the FENCETECH web site, www.fencetech.us. Jim has attended innumerable trade shows in his time, and you can trust that he will have many practical tips to help maximize your time on the show floor. And many exhibitors are utilizing modern aids such as Quick Response Codes (QR) to make available the most information in the shortest amount of time. If you are taking part in the extensive Fence Industry Week education sessions held the same week (beginning on March 4), your time will be especially valuable and you'll need to cover as much ground as possible during the trade show. Don't let time sneak up on you; register for any and all of the events in which you are interested as soon as possible. Also book hotel accommodations and airline reservations now, as things can get tight in Vegas this time of year.
