MOWERS AND MORE | Eco-friendly Mowers greenongreen BUSINESS & ENVIRONMENT TM FROM GREEN MEDIA BOB-CAT Predator-Pro LP-61 The BOB-CAT Predator-Pro LP-61 is a 61-inch, no-hassle, propane-powered, commercial zero-turn riding mower that packs all of the power and performance features associated with the Predator-Pro commercial line. The only difference: These units are pow- ered by a 30-hp. Generac 990 engine that has the added ability to cut ozone-forming emissions by more than 50 percent over air- cooled gasoline engines. This engine is fueled by the same common liquid-withdrawal propane tanks and technology used by forklift trucks, giving users easy access to a readily available fuel source and replenishment system. No conversion system is needed and no costly, specialty tanks are required. BOB-CAT/Schiller Grounds Care, Inc. Cub Cadet Commercial’s TANK S LP Cub Cadet Commercial is giving green industry professionals another option for fuel efficiency with the TANK S LP. Powered by ei- ther an 852-cc or 999-cc Kawasaki engine, the TANK S LP offers reduced emissions and fuel costs while delivering the same high performance found in all TANK S units. The benefits of liquid propane extend beyond reduced emissions as professional users will enjoy longer engine life, longer run times and less engine maintenance. Additionally, the TANK S LP meets all current EPA and CARB emissions standards. It will also allow users to reduce their carbon footprint and save on fuel costs since liquid propane is, on average, 30-percent less expensive than gasoline or diesel. Cub Cadet Commercial Exmark Lazer Z X-Series Exmark Lazer Z X-Series mowers are available with a 60-inch full-floating UltraCut Series 6 cutting deck, allowing up to 8.4 acres per hour to be mowed. The Lazer Z X-Series is powered by a 25-hp. Kohler Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) or Kawasaki V-Twin propane engine, allowing for speeds up to 11.5-mph forward and 7-mph reverse. The Lazer Z X-Series also features the Exmark- exclusive Parker unitized pump and wheel motor system (with no hoses), integrated cooling fans, and an integrated reservoir for im- proved performance and reduced maintenance. Exmark Ferris IS 3100ZP propane-powered commercial mower The Ferris IS 3100ZP propane-powered mower is available in 2 models: IS3100ZPBV3261 and IS3100ZPBV3272. Both models boast an 895-cc Briggs & Stratton Vanguard Big Block V-Twin engine and a 61- or 72-inch cutting width. These propane-powered mowers offer several advantages, including reduced emissions (EPA and CARB certified); lower fuel costs (propane is, on average, less expensive than gasoline or diesel fuels); and long run times (estimated run time on 2 tanks — each containing 34 pounds of propane — is 8-10 hours of cutting under normal conditions). In addition, the propane system is sealed, so contaminates (debris) cannot enter the system. Propane also cannot go stale and can be stored longer.
