CANADIAN PAIRS CROWN ISLE
CHAMPIONS WIN AT PEBBLE BEACH
After winning the 9th edition of the Canadian
Pairs Presented By WestJet Final last September
at Crown Isle Resort on Vancouver Island in a
five-hole playoff, Courtenay's Sandy Watt And
Greg Koster followed up by winning The Pebble
Beach Team Championship.
The Canadian Pairs Presented By WestJet sees
teams from across Western Canada earn all-
expense paid trips to compete in the National
Final by winning events at their home clubs. If
they win the best-ball, 3/4-handicap Stableford
score tournament there, they get an all-expense
paid trip to compete in a pairs tournament at
famed Pebble Beach.
Koster called the opportunity "a dream" and
admitted being slightly in awe during the
competition, "Our first round was at Pebble
Beach and I started off so overwhelmed and
taking pictures and everything that I reeled off
a few bogies early."
They would regain focus and then play well
during the second round at Spanish Bay and
would win the gross title with a combined two-
round total gross score of 3-under par for a two-
shot victory.
Clubs across Canada can send teams to compete
in the 2014 prestigious event. For more
