Made of lead crystal, the collection is 15% taller than the Vinum line, but 25% lighter, while maintaining dishwasher safe- ty and breakage resistance. Winery Advisor Introduces Training Video Winery Advisor in San Luis Obispo, Calif., has produced a tasting room sales training video. The 50-minute video is based on the Winery Advi- sor on-site sales class, which has a five-year track record of training tasting room teams to increase club, case and bottle sales. CapSeal Offers Anti-Counterfeiting Solution The French company INSIDE Secure and Selinko of Belgium have introduced CapSeal, a patent-pending system to fight counterfeiting in the wine and spirits market. Using a smart- phone or similar device, consumers can scan the chip embedded in the CapSeal tag and the Selinko mobile application platform, to confirm that the bottle has not been pre- viously opened. Calibrate Sprayers with Vine Tech App Vine Tech Equipment in Prosser, Wash., has introduced a smart- phone app to help growers calibrate their sprayers for orchards, berries and vineyards. The Vine Tech app, which works with any sprayers using Teejet nozzles, allows users to select row spacing, MPH and PSI, as well as a combination of nozzles to meet a gallons- per-acre goal. Magnum/Interfil Introduces Wine-Cleaning Centrifuge Springfield, Ore.-based Magnum/ Interfil introduced a new wine-cleaning centrifuge that is fully automatic in waste removal and cleans at a rate of 840 gal- lons per hour. The system uses tank blan- keting – the process of applying an inert gas to the empty space in the centrifuge – to help keep oxygen levels low in and around the product. For details, call Larry W. Wicklund at 541-221-3599. Syngenta to Launch New Fungicide Greensboro, N.C.-based Syngenta announced plans to introduce a new SDHI fungicide, Solatenol. The fungicide will be available in four products for use on grapes and other crops. Upon registration, Sol- atenol fungicide will be marketed as Apro- via for apples, grapes and pears. Aprovia can be used to control powdery mildew, apple scab, fly speck and sooty blotch. PEOPLE Cody Ewers Joins Fine Northern Oak Fine Northern Oak has hired Cody Ewers as California account manager.
