Cover with sliced apples. Mix together sugar, flour, butter and cinnamon, add to top of apples. Bake at 350˚F for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool. Then drizzle with the powder sugar frosting. Fruit Cake Cookies OPAL BECKER, CT. 815, NORWAY, IA 1/2 c. oleo 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1/4 c. buttermilk 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. soda 1-1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. allspice 1 c. raisins 1 c. dates, chop fine 3 c. chopped pecans 1 c. chopped maraschino cherries Put dates and raisins in food chopper. Combine oleo, brown sugar and eggs. Add buttermilk, flour, cinnamon, salt, baking powder, soda and allspice. Add pecans. Mix well. Drop by spoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300˚F for 20 to 25 minutes. A cherry can be placed in the center of the cookie and press down. 29
