PRODUCT ROUNDUP EQUIPMENT FOCUS 26 JANUARY 2016 OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT www.outdoorpowerequipment.com PRODUCT ROUNDUP PRODUCTS B3C FUEL SOLUTIONS OFFERS PRODUCTS TO COMBAT FUEL-RELATED ISSUES As a dealer, you often have to resolve issues caused by bad fuel. However, B3C Fuel Solutions offers products that you can use to test, fix, and prevent fuel-related issues. Test: Knowing fuel quality is critical to fixing and preventing fuel-related issues. Dealers can use B3C's Gasoline Test Swabs to check gas to see if it is fresh, marginal (decaying), or bad and if there is water present. The service department can then inform the customer the status of the gas and use it as part of your diagnostic service. This also informs the dealer if the repair is covered under warranty. It only takes a few minutes to perform the test, and it can be done right in front of the customer. Fix: B3C's Mechanic In A Bottle synthetic fuel additive works in 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines. It removes all varnish in the fuel system without having to remove the carburetor, removes carbon deposits and water, reconditions rubber and plastic components, and revitalizes old fuel. Mechanic In A Bottle rejuvenates fuel systems, so they start efficiently and operate in top condition. Prevent: How can a customer make sure that a unit will start? By using B3C's Ethanol Shield fuel stabilizer in the gas at all times, the fuel will stay fresh, and ethanol will not be an issue. The fuel will not be the reason the engine will not start. This means that there is an actual issue with the engine that needs service and very well could be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. B3C Fuel Solutions LLC VANGUARD AIR-COOLED V-TWIN BIG BLOCK EFI ENGINE Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power recently introduced its Vanguard air-cooled V-Twin Big Block EFI engine, giving landscape contractors the power and durability only Big Blocks offer with the increased fuel ef- ficiency of a closed-loop electronic fuel injection (EFI) system. The new engine joins a growing lineup of Vanguard EFI engines, including open-loop Big Block EFI engines for mud boats in the marine market and the closed-loop 810 EFI engines for commercial zero-turn mowers. Big Block engines are designed for the toughest mowing jobs, powering commercial mowers with 54-inch cutting decks and larger. The new EFI technology is available in its 33- and 37-gross-hp. Big Block engines. It features an automotive-based closed-loop EFI system for up to 25 percent better fuel economy compared to the already-efficient carbureted Big Block engines. EFI engines use less fuel than carbu- reted engines because fuel in an EFI system is delivered precisely where and when needed, so fuel flow is less under certain conditions. Like the Vanguard 810 EFI engine, the Big Block EFI engine offers unique diagnostic features to arm fleet or dealer technicians with an abundance of information to eliminate downtime and optimize engine performance. Three diagnostics options will enable easy identification of issues in the field, and provide technicians the ability to test, update, save, and share engine data. These include in-field blink codes, supported by Vanguard's exclusive Power Code; a Tiny Scan reader, which can be plugged into the service port to display error codes; and a cable connecting the ECU to a computer for a deeper dive into engine data. Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power BRIGGS & STRATTON 5-IN-1 ADVANCED FORMULA FUEL TREATMENT & STABILIZER AND ETHANOL-FREE FUEL Briggs & Stratton Corporation offers 5-in-1 Ad- vanced Formula Fuel Treatment & Stabilizer, as well as Advanced Formula Ethanol-Free Fuel. Briggs & Stratton 5-in-1 Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment & Stabilizer is a super-concentrated formula developed by small-engine experts to protect against the harmful effects of ethanol-blended fuel in small engines. Unlike other fuel treatment and stabilizer products, the formula contains no alcohol, which can compound the damaging effects associated with ethanol due to mois- ture. It stabilizes fuel up to 3 years with the help of triple anti-oxidant metal part protection. Hard-working detergent cleans the fuel system to prevent carburetor gumming and varnish. Metal de-activators and corrosion inhibitors guard against rust and degradation. Briggs & Stratton 5-in-1 Advanced Formula Fuel Treat- ment & Stabilizer prevents ethanol problems in all 2-cycle and 4-cycle gasoline engines, and it is an ideal product for easy engine starting and long-duration outdoor power equipment storage. Briggs & Stratton's Advanced Formula Ethanol-Free Fuel, which contains the 5-in-1 Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment & Stabilizer, is available in 3 blends: * 4-cycle fuel: for outdoor power equip- ment such as lawn mowers and chipper shredders. A combination of ethanol-free fuel and stabilizer. * 40:1 and 50:1 fuel: for 2-cycle engines such as leaf blowers and string trimmers. A combination of ethanol-free fuel, synthetic oil and stabilizer. Briggs & Stratton Corp. EQUIPMENT FOCUS ENGINES & FUEL ADDITIVES
