Fiery 379
Richard Hartman of Fremont, Ind., uses
this 2000 Peterbilt 379 to make heavy
hauls for Kusmenko Kustom Farming
of Zap, N.D., normally pulling a Trail
King 9x60 RGN. The truck has a 550-hp
Caterpillar, a 13-speed transmission and
a 300-inch 4-axle wheelbase. The cab
and bunk are 2002 models featuring
Legacy low-rider seats and Brazilian
hardwood floors, dash and door inserts.
A lift axle was
added, along with
stainless rear fend-
ers, a fiberglass
hood with no
rivets and a green
fire paint scheme
that's also on the
hood's underside.
A not-so-old yeller
James Dockery uses his 2013 Peterbilt
389 and Vantage bulk tank to haul
cement to Houston for Texas Lehigh
Cement of Buda, Texas. The truck, which
is painted Mayfield dairy yellow, has
a 500-hp Cummins ISX engine with an
18-speed transmission and 3:55 rears.
