primarily "by committee" continues to provide one of the region's most unique golf experiences, according to General Manager and Head Professional John Jacoby. Jacoby who has been at the helm at Shannon Lake since 2007, continues, "I think we are kind of an under-rated test. It's interesting to hear feedback from the better players in the Okanagan Valley. They feel they have to play well to score well at Shannon Lake. But I think for the most part, our Shareholders and Members rave about the turf conditions and the uniqueness of the routing." In recent years, nearly $1- million has been invested into infrastructure and course improvements. Late in 2008, an underpass was constructed to connect both sides of the golf course beneath Shannon Lake Road. In 2011, gasoline power carts were replaced with a fleet of 61 Club Car Precedent cars with the Visage GPS system. Cart path improvements are ongoing, while tee box enhancements in 2012 include new tee markers, ball washers and yardage signage."We're proud of the changes" said Jacoby, the 2000 BCPGA Head Professional of the Year. "And we accomplished all of this during kind of a tough economy." 250-768-4653 • shannonlakegolf.com On Friday August 10th Frank Holdsworth, a member in good standing of the Castlegar Golf Club got a hole in one.
