Historic Thanksgiving tour I DIVERSIONS TRAVEL By Sean Randall n 1621, some 100-plus Pilgrims and Native Americans sat together for a three-day feast, celebrating the harvest and the winter survival of the early colonists. Today, Americans traditionally gather to honor that day every fourth Thursday of November. Thanksgiving Day has a long history with many traditions, traceable through many people and places. Even if you're not at home feasting on turkey and dressing, you can celebrate the holiday by seeing new (and old) sites. Most of these have plenty of truck parking and large parking lots. Pilgrim Hall Museum Built in 1824, the Pilgrim Hall Museum hosts a collection of treasures from the original Pilgrims of Plymouth Rock. The Plymouth, Mass., museum hosts items like Plymouth Gov. William England, Peregrine White. The museum is at 75 Court St., exit 6A off Massachusetts Route 3. Limited truck parking can be found in the RV/buses parking lot on Water Street.
