All of the donations to Greeley Harley-Davidson went to ARC and the Weld Food Bank. The collection ran the week leading up to Saturday, Sept. 28. KAWI INTRODUCES TWO NEW BIKES Kawasaki unveiled two new motorcycles at its dealer meeting in San Diego last month. The 2014 Ninja 1000 ABS has received significant updates for the new model year. Its upgraded 1,043cc inlinefour with DFI now offers more power and torque. The new KTRC Traction Control system features three modes, plus off, for maximum performance and enhanced comfort. Selectable Power Modes give riders a choice between full power and about 70 percent power output, and a taller sixth gear provides a more relaxed highway ride. The new one-piece "monobloc" radialmount front brake calipers deliver superb braking power and control, as well as a premium laser-etched Kawasaki logo and black alumite finish, according to the company. The bike also adds an analog plus digital instrument cluster, a remote rear spring preload adjuster, a subframe with built-in compatibility for Kawi's new accessory saddlebag mounts and optional Kawasaki Quick Release 29-liter hard saddlebags. The 2014 649cc Versys now comes with ABS brakes, designed to make the bike more versatile. Also returning to the 2014 lineup are: the Ninja 300, 300 SE, 300 ABS, 300 ABS SE, 650 and 650 ABS; the Concours 14 ABS; the Vulcan 900 Classic, 900 Classic SE, 900 Custom, The 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 ABS includes the KTRC Traction Control system. 1700 Nomad ABS, 1700 Vaquero ABS, 1700 Vaquero ABS SE and 1700 Voyager ABS. HEAT DEMON LAUNCHES HEATED GRIP KITS FOR HARLEY-DAVIDSON Heat Demon is now offering an improved Harley-Davidson heated grip kit. Heat Demon's new heated grip controller and heater can be used universally with any Harley-Davidson motorcycle, regardless of throttle type or handlebar size. The once apparent "nose" on the controller has been removed to create a more stock look and to reduce the SKUs in half. An ultra-thin heater has also been created and added to all kits, so those with an electronic throttle system are able to insert the heater without having to modify the inside of undersized handlebars. "We are very excited to introduce the next generation of our Heat Demon Grip Warmers for Harley-Davidson motorcycles," said Joe Bauer, general manager of Heat Demon. "No longer will there be questions about reaming out handlebars or handlebar sizes. Our new kit will fit 99.9 percent of all Harley models on the road today. With modifications to the controller and the additional heater, installation time is reduced significantly. We've also modified the heaters to make sure the heat is more consistent between the clutch and throttle grips." All Heat Demon HarleyDavidson kits include everything needed for a fast, easy installation for most grips. The controller is available in black or chrome, and replaces the front half of the stock clutch or brake perch. The four-color LED lights indicate the heat level and dim for night riding making it a convenient, safe way to extend your riding season. EBR TO UNVEIL NEW SPORT BIKE AT AIMEXPO IN ORLANDO Erik Buell Racing (EBR) announced that it will unveil a new sport bike Oct. 16 at the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) in Orlando. The new, street-legal high performance motorcycle carries EBR's model designation 1190RX and is a direct descendant of EBR's race-bred limited edition 1190RS Super Bike. While the 1190RX shares its sibling's 1190cc engine and many of EBR's exclusive performance and handling-enhancing features, it is a new design created to tame the wildest roads and rouse the most demanding riders. "This is the culmination of decades of dedication, innovation and teamwork," EBR founder Erik Buell said. "We have been working to create a pure rider's machine and a true world brand. From the heartland and the heart of America, these are extraordinary motorcycles that discerning riders everywhere will be passionate to own." The unveiling of the EBR 1190RX will take place in EBR's booth number 1157 at the AIMExpo at noon on Oct. 16. Media representatives and motorcycle dealers are encouraged to attend, as a number of developments from the EBR team will be announced at that time.
