NEW PRODUCTS self-sharpening chain saws On July 20, efco announced the unveiling of the world’s only factory- equipped self-sharpening chain saws. Blount’s recently introduced Power- Sharp system will be featured on 3 saws straight from the factory. The efco MT 3500, MT 3750 and MT 4100 will now be even easier to use thanks to the self-sharpening system. The PowerSharp system is easy to use and much faster than traditional means of sharpening. Simply attach the sharpener and press the tip to a solid surface for 3 to 5 seconds. The dull chain is sharpened that quickly. Make sure to remove the sharpener from the end of the bar before resuming cutting. efco saws equipped with PowerSharp will save time and money for everyone. Homeowners can have the confidence to continue working without worrying about a dull chain. Farmers won’t be stuck working with a dull chain out in the field because the sharpener is portable and easy to attach. Land- scapers and arborists can work faster, knowing that they aren’t being slowed down by dull chain. efco is the only brand to offer the PowerSharp system on a saw straight from the factory. For a limited time, users will be able to purchase an efco saw with the PowerSharp system for just $20 more than the standard price. efco/Emak USA efco unveils factory-equipped John Deere launches line of sub-compact tractors John Deere announced June 1 the in- troduction of its 1 Series sub-compact utility tractors for the residential market. The 1023E (23.5 hp.) and 1026R (25.2 hp.) will provide homeowners with the power and performance to easily attach and remove implements, work with greater comfort and safety, and mow large volumes of grass with a high quality of cut. The 1023E and 1026R can accept dozens of attachments and implements such as front loaders, mower decks, ro- tary tillers and even a backhoe. Using exclusive AutoConnect technology, opera- tors simply drive over the top of the mowing deck to attach it to the tractor. In addition, iMatch AutoHitch compatible 3-point hitch implements can be attached or removed from the tractor’s 3-point hitch in minutes without ever leaving the seat or using a single tool. Both tractors have a wide stance for increased stability, and a standard fold- ing ROPS system for roll-over protection. The 1026R also features a deluxe lighting system to enable work in low-light conditions, cruise control for mowing in open fields, tilt steering, a tool box, a 12-volt outlet, and a position control 3- point hitch that allows the operator to return the hitch to the same height with precision and ease. When mowing, operators can easily adjust mowing height from the seat of the tractor with the deck height adjustment knob, and process high volumes of grass with the durable 7-Iron deck, made from 7-gauge steel.
