6 • OCTOBER 2013 • WORLD FENCE NEWS ® ® ® Trident™ CornerStone Keystone Advantage Keystone X Magnetic Pool Safety Latches The Million Cycle Hinge™ AFA announces two new courses have been added to upcoming Fence Installation School The American Fence Association has announced that two new courses will be launched this fall as part of the AFA Fence Installation School, with Chain Link and Sports Fencing and Ornamental Fencing to be offered for the first time. The Fence Installation School will be held Nov. 3-8 in Dallas as part of AFA's Fence Industry Week. (Complete details follow.) Attendees will receive a mix of comprehensive classroom training and Heavy Duty Key-Lockable Latches eXternal Mount Key-Lockable Latches hands-on field work as they learn the essential information on installing these specialized types of fencing. Attendees must have completed or tested out of the core modules in order to be accepted into these courses. In addition to the two specialty disciplines, the eight core modules will be offered during the same week for those fencers who have less experience or just want to assure their installations are based on current standards and best practices. Attendees will complete classroom and field training in the following areas: • Personal safety • Blueprint reading • Truck/trailer safety and loading • Site reading and layout • Post hole digging OrnaMAG™ Manta™ AquaLatch Magnetic Metal Latches ® Magnetic Pool Safety Latches Magnetic Nylon Latches • Post setting and anchoring • Concrete mixing • Introduction to fence welding Other agenda items during Fence Industry week include: • Certified Automated Gate Operator Installer (CAGOI) exam (Nov. 1) • Automated Gate Systems Designer School (Nov. 1-3) • Automated Gate Systems Designer exam (Nov. 3) • Sales Training School (Nov. 3-6) • Certified Fence Professional (CFP) exam (Nov. 6). The fall Fence Industry Week is not to be confused with the AFA Fence Industry Week that will be held in conjunction with the 2014 FENCETECH convention and trade exhibit in March 2014. The 2014 Fence Industry Week is March 4-8, 2014, while the FENCETECH convention and trade exhibition is March 6-8, 2014. The location is the Mandalay Bay Center in Las Vegas. The convention center is inside the Mandalay Bay Resort. Next year will mark the 52nd year for the FENCETECH show, and the 2014 event will be packed with seminars, workshops and, of course, the trade show. It brings together the fence, deck, railing and security industry's leading manufacturers, distributors, contractors and specifiers under one roof.
