Occupation: Company driver, Danny Harmon Trucking Years trucking: 19 months Hauls: General freight "I am a 42-year-old mother of four with three grandchildren. Once my children were grown, I decided to pursue a career driving a truck instead of just waiting on drivers at the fuel desk. As it turned out, I had a knack for driving a truck, and I am pretty good at it." Kerns makes sure she has her hair, makeup and hot pink acrylic nails done before starting work. But she says it's the confidence gained from trucking that makes her shine. Donna McCoy Hometown: Searcy, Ark. Occupation: Company driver, Conley Trans- port Years trucking: 17 years Hauls: Produce, general freight "Beauty comes from inside. We are beautiful by our personalities and how we present ourselves. I love driving and tell anyone who is interested, but afraid to go for it, that if it's something you want to do, then do it." McCoy, who comes from a family of truckers, cut her teeth on her daddy's steering wheel. "I not only represent myself as a person on the road, but also my company and the image of truck drivers," she says. Amy McGrath Hometown: Huntington, Mass. Occupation: Company driver, Lockwood Construction Services Years trucking: 15 years Hauls: Mulch, granite, rock, sand "Beauty is how you treat others around you, and it's something that you earn. It's not something that you're entitled to. You can't just call yourself beautiful without earning it." When she's not hauling granite on a flatbed for Lockwood Construction Services, McGrath usually is working with her Road Rangers 413 Truck Club, which she cofounded with a friend. The group's first show is June 14.
