www.PowersportsBusiness.com NEWS Powersports Business • February 13, 2017 • 7 thing. Polaris needs to hit the brakes and slow down. It will help Indian sales now, and Indian will not be spread so thin. Other than being hung with unsellable inventory, not much. It depends on whether they man up with big ($10,000) rebates to move the dead iron. No matter what, it will cost us thousands. Not a drastic change, but more mad Polaris customers though. It will impact new bike sales as new Japa- nese bikes [are] nearly sale-proof. Short term it's a disruption, but long term will not make much of an impact. Minimal. It shouldn't too much. Less flooring cost. We will lose money from all the stuff they required us to take, like P&A, fixtures, signs, major units. They should buy it all back. Not at all. Marginally. Complete loss of confidence in Polaris. Here's a further look at the Victory dealers who participated in the survey: 86 percent of them sell other Polaris prod- ucts, with only 23 percent of them also carrying Indian. 82 percent are single-store operations, with 87 percent of them bringing in at least $5 million in annual revenue 45 percent were on plan for Q4 2016 36 percent were below plan for Q4 2016 18 percent were above plan for Q4 2016 72 percent reported overall business con- ditions as either very strong, good, or average in Q4 2016 PSB VICTORY CONTINUED FROM PAGE 6 New location brings new dealers to auction National Powersport Auctions (NPA) kicked off 2017 by hosting its inaugural dealer-only event at its new facility near Philadelphia in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Nearly 250 units were sold during the Jan. 11 grand opening. "Cruisers, sport bikes, ATVs, side-by- sides, dirt bikes … vehicles in every category went under the gavel," said Bob Fitzpat- rick, general operations manager for the 35,000-square-foot facility. "The variety of product this early in the year was a great way to introduce the NPA process to dealers in the Northeast. I am looking forward to the spring and summer months!" "Not only did we reach our goal of expanding our dealer pres- ence on the Eastern Seaboard, we had over 325 dealers participate in today's auction hailing from 36 dif- ferent states," said Jim Woodruff, NPA's chief operating officer. "Best of all, nearly half of the dealers that bought were fresh to NPA. We're thrilled with everyone's enthusi- asm for our new location and look forward to helping take the region to the next level." NPA offers dealers the ability to bid in person or online through its website www. npauctions.com. "You can't have a successful auction unless you have both sellers and buyers," added Ryan Keefe, director of marketing for NPA. "Sellers saw we have buyers from around the country with a strong appetite for their aged and trade-in units, while buy- ers found exactly what they needed all under one roof." "Convenience, huge selection and easy sell- ing process are what drew me in," said Kevin Burk of East 11 Motorcycle Exchange in Oaks, Pennslvania. "Best of all, it is in our own back yard instead of having to travel." "Many of the top-operating dealers in this area have strong sales year-round in both new and pre-owned product, so it was important that NPA bring their auction process this area," Fitzpatrick added. Dealers are invited to participate in the next NPA event in the Philly facility on Feb. 8.
