Officials from EBR traveled from Wiscon- sin to Rome in early March to promote the new EBR product line and expand its dealer network across Europe. "This grant allows our team to meet with key stakeholders across Europe," said Erik Buell, president and CEO of EBR. "We know the passion in Europe for sport motorcycles continues to grow, and our goal in attending this show is to ultimately expand our dealer footprint in the region." The grant program is designed to help Wisconsin-based companies lay the founda- tion for new export strategies or build upon existing export programs. CASAREZ NAMED PRESIDENT, CEO AT CUSTOM CHROME Custom Chrome has announced the promotion of Louis Casarez to presi- dent and chief executive officer. He has spent the past 15 years as an employee at Custom Chrome in Morgan Hill, Calif., as well as its parent company, DIC, in South Korea. Last year, Casarez returned to Custom Chrome as director of operations after a 12-year deployment in South Korea. While in South Korea, he was a design engineer for the company's Motorcycle Division. He was heavily involved in the RevTech Engine and 6-speed transmission development. Also while at DIC, Casarez was involved with projects for GM, Clark forklifts and Dana. During the past year as director of operations, he has worked to streamline the company's focus and goals. Casarez is a motorcycle enthusiast first and has worked in many facets of the industry. After graduating at the top of his class from MMI in 1990, he worked for a motorcycle shop in the Monterey Peninsula. He spent his next four years as a designer at Corbin. Louis then joined Custom Chrome in 1999 as a member of its research and development department. S&S NO LONGER BREAKING THE LAW IN CALIFORNIA If you want to break the law, you'll have to find another way to do it, because you can now legally install an S&S Stealth air cleaner on your 2001-up fuel injected Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the state of California. S&S Cycle Inc. announced that the Cali- fornia Air Resources Board has issued an Executive Order (EO # D-355-11) allowing S&S Stealth air cleaners to be installed on Del- phi EFI equipped Harley-Davidson big twin and Sportster models. That means consumers can run an S&S Stealth air cleaner without fear of a stiff fine for tampering. All S&S Stealth air cleaner kits for 2001-up EFI models now come with a special sticker and instructions for applying it to an inconspicuous location on the frame. So, if for some reason a rider does get stopped, there's proof that the S&S Stealth air cleaner is legal. S&S Cycle is no stranger to emissions compliant products, having intro- duced its first U.S. compliant engine in 1998. RACER X RETURNS AS MEDIA PARTNER FOR 2014 AIMEXPO The American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) and Filter Publications, publishers of Racer X Illustrated, have announced a renewal of their media partner- ship for the 2014 event, scheduled for Oct. 16-19 at Orlando's Orange County Conven- tion Center. For the second year, Racer X will be a featured exhibitor on the AIMExpo floor, showcasing its globally recognized motocross magazine and website, while also producing exclusive content from the event. "Last year was a highly productive experi- ence and it allowed us to reach new segments of the powersports marketplace," said Filter Publications president Bryan Stealey. "We established new relationships with other exhibitors and dealers, and we received a significant amount of new subscriptions from consumers that came to the show. It was an easy decision for us to return this year, and we intend to be bigger and better in every way." "Racer X has long been one of the most respected media brands in the motorcycle industry and our partnership with them proved to be mutually beneficial," said Kerry Graeber, marketing director, Marketplace Events Motorcycle Group. "They are a stan- dard bearer within the powersports media landscape and the opportunity to continue our relationship with them with a focus on growth is a tremendous asset to the continued success of AIMExpo."
