"Overall, interest in ATVs is strong. The top seven most researched ATV manufacturers on KBB.com have shown remarkable DIGEST ATV views down in Q1 on KBB.com Data provided to Powersports Business exclu- sively from Kelley Blue Book shows that ATVs received 3 percent fewer web hits on KBB.com in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the first quarter of 2013. ATVs larger than 400cc displacement dem- onstrate this pattern, with the exception of the 2012 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO, which gained 44 percent more web hits during that time. "This is the first time a model newer than 2008 has landed in the Top 10 Most Researched list for ATVs," said Kelley Blue Book senior analyst Lisa Pellisier. "ATVs under 400cc displacement are showing a more significant decline in interest, with the Top 10 receiving from 7 percent to 20 percent fewer KBB.com web hits than one year ago." Interest in UTVs continues to expand. Despite the modest gains and losses experi- enced by the other segments, UTVs acquired 18 percent more KBB.com web hits in Q1 2014 than in Q1 2013. As usual, the 2008 Polaris Ranger RZR topped the list. Although it received 6 percent fewer web hits than one year ago, the vehicle still received 29 percent more than the No. 2 model on the list. ITP INTRODUCES BLACK OPS ITP Tire & Wheel Company in April announced that three of its most popular wheels will be available in a new matte black finish. The wheels include: the SD Dual Bead- lock, the SS216 and the SS316 wheels. Offering both a stylish and dependable design, the new SS216 Black Ops wheel from ITP Tire and Wheel has a 1,000-pound load rating and proprietary "Rock Armor" construction. Marketed under the name Black Ops, the new black wheels feature a 1,000-pound load rating. "We decided to market the wheels under the Black Ops namesake because they fit the styling profile of today's UTV owners," said Rhett Turpin, ITP Powersports director of sales & marketing. "The new black finish is 'stealth mode' — it's a great look and our customers are always looking for a new way to dress up — or down — their machines." The black SS216 and SS316 wheels feature ITP's proprietary "Rock Armor" construction, which consists of an inner reinforced lip that adds a second, inside structural component. ITP warrants the SS216 and SS316 wheels against bending or breaking and offers a life- time replacement warranty. Introduced in 2013, ITP boasts the SD Dual Beadlock is the first beadlock wheel made from a single piece of aluminum. It's backed by what the company calls "Total Tire Security." No matter what happens to the tire, accord- ing to ITP, the company guarantees it will stay attached at both the inner and outer beads. The wheel itself features a two-year limited warranty against bending or breaking. All three black wheels are available in 12-by-7-inch and 14-by-7-inch sizing and are topped with a tough protective clear coat finish. Matching wheel caps are included with each wheel. The wheels are expected to arrive in dealerships in May.
