6 • May 5, 2014 • Powersports Business NEWS www.PowersportsBusiness.com The American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) has announced that American motorcycle manufacturer Erik Buell Racing (EBR) will return to the 2014 show Oct. 16-19 in Orlando. EBR was a founding OEM exhibi- tor at the inaugural AIMExpo last October. EBR took advantage of the exclusive all-in- one platform offered at AIMExpo and received stellar response from dealers, members of the industry, media and consumers. The East Troy, Wis., company has made a name for itself as a result of the innovative American craftsman- ship of its motorcycles, including the 1190 RX that was globally debuted at AIMExpo last year. With the opportunity to connect to its current dealer body, expand its dealer network and introduce new models, EBR eagerly awaits the opportunity to build on its success from the inaugural AIMExpo. "We are returning to AIMExpo in 2014 because the inaugural event last year was a great success for us," said Gary Pietruszewski, vice president of global sales at Erik Buell Rac- ing. "It's an opportunity for us to spend quality time with dealers, the media and motorcycle enthusiasts. The timing is perfect, too, since it coincides with new model introductions and is late enough in the season that dealers and their staff can more easily attend." EBR plans on expanding its presence at AIMExpo in 2014 by offering demo rides. Additionally, several of EBR's professional race team riders will be in attendance to meet with dealers, media and consumers. "The opportunity to welcome EBR back as one of our founding OEM exhibitors is sig- nificant for AIMExpo," said Larry Little, vice president and general manager, Marketplace Events Motorcycle Group. "The brand has boldly paved its own path in the powersports marketplace thanks to the craftsmanship and fine detail of its motorcycles, and we are happy to showcase their cutting edge products. We look forward to EBR's return and can't wait to see what they'll come up with next." More than 275 exhibitors already have com- mitted to AIMExpo in 2014. AIMEXPO CONSUMER EDUCATION SHOWCASE ANNOUNCES CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS Rider magazine and Thunder Press are now accepting proposals for consumer educa- tion presentations from potential industry speakers at AIMExpo, which will be held Oct. 16-19 in Orlando. AIMExpo will offer consumer attendees a series of educational seminars on an exciting and informative variety of topics on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18-19. EPG Media's motor- cycle consumer publications, Rider magazine and Thunder Press, will produce the consumer educational track. "Rider magazine and Thunder Press have a long history of educating our readers on motor- cycles and the motorcycling experience," said Jeff Patterson, publisher of Rider and Thunder Press. "We're excited about the opportunity to provide valuable educational opportunities for AIMExpo's consumer attendees." In order to provide the most robust con- sumer education lineup, offering AIMExpo attendees the most value for their attendance, Rider and Thunder Press are offering all quali- fied speakers a chance to participate in the consumer education lineup. Presentations should target topics that will enhance the riding experience of AIMExpo attendees, such as maintenance-related issues, safety, riding skills and customizing. Because of the presentations, riders will leave AIMExpo with greater knowledge on important motor- cycling topics. "Educating consumers on the latest and greatest topics that facilitate their passion for motorcycling will be a cherished opportunity for many presenters," said Mark Tuttle, editor- in-chief of Rider. "We look forward to connect- ing the industry and consumers at AIMExpo." The deadline to submit a proposal is May 30. To submit a presentation proposal, email or call Tuttle to request an application form at mtuttle@ridermagazine.com or 805/987-5500. Powersports Business will once again man- age and administer the Powersports Business Institute @ AIMExpo. The dealer training ses- sions will be held Oct. 16-17 during AIMExpo. AMA NATIONAL CONVENTION, HALL OF FAME EVENT MOVING TO AIMEXPO FOR 2014 Members of the American Motorcyclist Asso- ciation are invited to the 2014 AMA National Convention, Oct. 16-19, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The event is being held in partnership with AIMExpo. In addition to a full slate of conven- tion- and expo-related attractions, participants also will have the opportunity to attend the 2014 AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, which will welcome a new class into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. "AMA members come from all areas of motorcycling, and the 2014 AMA National Convention is designed with all of them in mind," said AMA president and CEO Rob Dingman. "Like the AIMExpo, which itself offers something for everyone, so will our con- vention, whether you are a new rider exploring options in the demo ride area or an AMA Life Member attending the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame induction ceremony." Other elements of the AMA National Con- vention include the annual AMA member meeting, the annual AMA business mem- ber meeting, motorcycling-related seminars designed specifically for AMA members and other AMA member-exclusive benefits. A full slate of convention-related benefits and activi- ties will be announced soon.
