The age of adventure buyers runs from under 19 to over 74 years of age (age shown above is mid range of a five-year age group: "49" runs from 47 to 51 years old at time of purchase). The 19-year-old group (17 to 21) accounts for 2 percent of purchasers, while the 74-year-old group (72 to 76) purchases 0.5 percent. The largest group is the age 49 range (47 to 51). Half of buyers all are 47 and over. The units sold in this study were accompa- nied by $4.7 million in accessory purchases on the deal. The top nine selling part numbers by per- centage sold on deals were all derived from BMW parts. The one entry in this top 10 group not from BMW was an exhaust system from Ducati. The number appearing at far right in the top 10 lists is the percent of the $4.7 million in total parts sales provided by this one part num- ber. For example, the BMW "Aluminum Case Right" produced 6.3 percent of the $4.7 million sales. The Triumph "Arrow Silencer" produced 0.6 percent of that same total.
