54 • APRIL 2012 • WORLD FENCE NEWS Guardian issues challenge continued from page 52 not only to our industry but also to oth- ers less fortunate in a variety of ways. To sum up everything, our associ- ation, the AFA, has its share of prob- lems and benefits just like any of our own businesses. How we approach that with our involvement level and participation can only build upon what we currently have. Guardian Fence Suppliers has de- cided to give back to the industry that has given us a career, not just a job. We have selected five companies in our local chapter area which are either lapsed members or non-members of OVERSEAS DISTRIBUTORS, INC. BUY DIRECT FROM MANUFACTURER, IMPORTER AND WHOLESALER!! AFA. We will be paying those five companies' AFA national and Carolina Fence Association (CFA) local chap- ter dues for the 2012 fiscal year. Our hope is that they will see the benefit of AFA membership and will continue to belong to and be involved in our local chapter and the national AFA for years to come. To us, it's not an expense but an HOUSTON 11532 East Hardy Rd Houston, TX 77093 800-303-3348 FAX 281-219-0919 houston@odifence.com BALTIMORE 7636 Canton Center Dr Baltimore, MD 21224 800-531-3348 FAX 410-288-1112 baltimore@odifence.com TAMPA 3719 Corporex Park Dr Tampa, FL 33619 888-921-3348 FAX 813-635-9344 tampa@odifence.com CHICAGO 8855 South Roberts Rd Hickory Hills, IL 60457 888-577-6563 FAX 312-238-9052 chicago@odifence.com investment. We are making this invest- ment in order to give back to an or- ganization at the local level and at the national level that has been a part of our livelihood for so long. In that vein, Guardian Fence Sup- pliers has a challenge to propose to other manufacturers, suppliers, and wholesalers in our industry: Mirror our membership sponsorship. Sponsor the AFA dues of one, two or 10 companies for this year and then follow up to make sure they are taking advantage of what AFA can offer them. Get involved at the local chapter WE CARRY A FULL LINE OF CHAIN LINK FENCE FITTINGS INCLUDING: BLACK POWDER COATED TENSION BARS, BLACK/GREEN POWDER COATED FITTINGS AND DIE CAST ALUMINUM AND POLY ROLLERS WITH METAL COVERS!! www.odifence.com level and attend and support local meetings and functions. Help find speakers to present relevant topics, volunteer for a committee to call per- spective members to attend a meeting, invite and/or pay for a lapsed or possi- ble new member's dinner at a meeting, or cater a barbeque lunch or pizza din- ner for an educational Certified In- staller module being presented. Take a look at where you spend your time and money and see if you can fit more of either or both into the benefit of our association. It can only improve your company and the AFA.
